Love it so much i named it mini mick! Brilliant for grubbing out ivy and bramble roots and together we have rooted out several hazel saplings. Perfect size for me as not too heavy but enough oomph to get into the soil and small enough to use in tightish spots. For a novice with such tools, it would have been good to have a little advice on how to fit the head on to the handle.

I needed something to help turnover/breakup soil in those places you can't get a pick or a fork. Most products i looked at in this price range looked very flimsy. This mattock is very sturdy, a good weight and does the job nicely. So far completed around 60ft of borders (under trees, bushes etc) without issue. Price was reasonable and the product arrived on time.

Ideal size for my wife to work with in our garden that has a steep bank.
