Not robust enough, can cut very well but easy to get the blade jammed and difficult to release. Happened to many times now and blade will not work. Have taken it apart and cannot put it back together in a good working order
have to scrap it so now looking for another make.

I have the same problem as maurice, cord snapped cutter end. I have taken it apart by undoing the 2 nuts and bolts, and taken out the pin from the end of the blade to enable the rod with the pulley on the end to be extracted, also take the spring off the other end of the blade. Rethread with new cord and then put it back in reverse of above.
only problem i have is getting the cord ,any ideas.

Only had these less than a year and already the nylon rope has snapped. It maybe my fault for trying to cut and slightly thicker branch but not sure. Any the problem now is that there is no information on how to replace/rethread the rope back onto the spool etc as it has snapped on the pulley that is on the end of the cutting arm. If anyone has had simular problems and found an answer please post on here. Thanks.

These loppers are extremely expensive for what they are in my opinion. They also may have one severe assembly fault. The spring that achieves the cut barely has the end through the hole in the cutter blade and it is also twisted against itself causing more stretch on one part of the spring, namely the part to the blade. In time this spring may come off in use. It's a fault caused in my opinion by a manufacturer not being properly product and customer focused and could have been avoided. The problem is that this is hidden by the packaging so you don't see it until you get home! The spring ends should locate right through the hole and not just partly through it. The other end of the spring is a little more through the hole it locates to but nothing to shout about. The cutters are not short but have been assembled so. This may also be an assembly fault. By lengthening the cord a little you can get more length on the loppers. There is no point in having loppers like this with the part you need to move to make the loppers work located halfway up the pole! According to the packaging they're made in poland and not in finland. Fiscars finland on the black cutting blade end of the loppers is merely the patent. They only have one blade but this is extremely sharp and cuts extremely well. They are also very light to use.
