Battery Starter Chargers

What you need to know about Battery Starter Chargers

There's nothing more irritating than a flat car battery. Referred to as sulfation, battery depletion is common in winter, & is generally a result of high energy usage coupled with inadequate journey times for the battery to recharge in. Short trips & consistent use of headlights & windscreen wipers all put car batteries at risk of sulfation, but even the most careful drivers sometimes find themselves saddled with a flat when they least expect it. Lead Acid batteries in particular also tend to self discharge when not in use, at a rate as high as 5% per day - so if you have a vehicle which is driven only infrequently, it's very possible that the battery will be depleted by the time you need to use it. It's important to be prepared, & with a Battery Starter/Charger you'll be fully prepared to meet any eventuality. If you simply need to get a vehicle running, the starter charger will deliver a sudden jolt of power to the battery to enable you to start the engine. After this, the vehicle's alternator will take over, recharging the battery while the engine operates. On the other hand, a starter/charger can also be used to charge a sulfated car, motorcycle or HGV battery can be charged to its fullest extent - which the alternator alone will not be able to do - ensuring better performance from the battery & reducing the risk of a flat in the future.
