What you need to know about Convector Heaters
Convector Heaters are small, portable electric heaters capable of warming individual rooms. They come in useful covering for boiler/central heating problems, for placing underneath a clothes horse to accelerate drying indoors, & for providing additional heat where needed in the home or workplace. Convector Heaters warm a room as air passes over a heating element inside the heater, transferring warmth from the element to the room's internal atmosphere. Most models come with inbuilt thermostats, which switch the power to the heater off once the environment around it reaches the desired temperature. Some also contain fans, which move air quickly over the heating element, thereby more rapidly heating the room. Convector Heaters are usually fitted with stabilising feet & are placed on the floor in the centre of a room; if space is an issue, look for a wall mountable model.
Tips for using your Convector Heater
Convector Heaters can be expensive to run in the long term. To save on costs, ensure that you use your heater in well insulated places. More insulation permits less heat to be lost, which means that the heater will have to be run less often. Avoid touching near the heating element during use, & keep the Convector Heater a few feet away from curtains, upholstery, or any flammable substances. Do not allow water or other fluids to come into contact with the heater.
