Steam Cleaners

What you need to know about Steam Cleaners

Steam Cleaning is a low effort, environmentally friendly method of cleaning, eliminating the need for chemicals or detergents. The heat of the steam sanitises surfaces, freeing up stubborn grime so that it can be wiped away by an attached microfibre cleaning pad - with impressive results.

A range of Steam Cleaners are available. Hand Held Steam Cleaners are perfect for small jobs such as cleaning toilets, tiles, kitchen hobs & work surfaces. However, if you want to clean floors, or multiple surfaces around the house, you'll need a larger model.

Floor Steam Cleaners are suitable for use all around the house. A variety of attachments can be purchased separately or are provided with the Floor Steam Cleaner, enabling them to be used for cleaning upholstery, inside ovens, for wallpaper steaming & even for powerful ironing.

Commercial Steam Cleaners are essentially high end Floor Steam Cleaners. They are hardy enough to be used day in, day out in a professional environment, & will clean surfaces more effectively than cheaper models.

Aside from the type of Steam Cleaner you choose, you may also want to consider tank size & type. A larger tank will operate for longer, giving you the ability to clean a larger surface. Moreover, a double tank model can be operated continuously, as one tank will heat up while the other is used to clean. However, as the individual tank capacity is lower, they will need to be topped up during cleaning.

Other applications for Steam Cleaners include cleaning windows, extractor hoods, sinks, tiles & grouting, mirrors, showers, baths, taps & plugholes.

Maintaining your Steam Cleaner

The cleaning pads on Steam Cleaners are generally machine washable. Eventually they will gather too much ingrained dirt & will require replacement.

Safety when using your Steam Cleaner

Steam Cleaners use boiling water to remove dirt. Coming into contact with the head of a powered up Steam Cleaner can cause severe burns, & caution should be taken to prevent this from happening. When not in use, keep the cleaner inaccessible to children. Always operate with cleaning pads in place, & never bring the Steam Cleaner into contact with electrical appliances or plugs.
