I bought to replace the same trimmer which the button got stuck and so it wouldn't start (and I'd just missed the 3yr warranty). Being a corded, this is a powerful machine and I feel safer with putting on at least some protective eyewear. It guarantees to cut thick and long grass with ease unlike rechargeable trimmers. This newer one sounds different, but so far it's working as expected. I just hope Bosch has improved the button mechanism inside.

Bosch rarely do anything wrong and this is no exception, though the power line could be longer and brightly coloured and not black making it too easy to cut through!! There is also a 3 year guarantee if you register in 4 weeks from Purchase

So far it has worked very well in removing brambles and tree suckers, as well as reducing grass 20cm high down to 1 cm. The strap makes it reasonably comfortable to use, even though it is quite heavy.

Good quality bush cutter whacked through my over grown paddock like nobody's business, my standard strimmer couldn't handle it. A bit heavier than I would have liked, but hey I am a light weight! Took me awhile to put together as instructions I found quite vague but I did get there in the end. I was impressed that all the tools needed were included.

A great bit of kit, not as heavy as I expected I am an oap so if ok for me it will be perfect for younger people, it made very light work of an area of 2 foot high weeds of all description. The only mistake I made was not making sure I had cleared the stones out so consequently the line got cut but its still cutting the weeds down. Haven't used the blade yet but I have tried changing from twine to blade and its very easy and straightforward.

Usual Bosch high quality of design and construction. It is heavy but this goes with the power and is manageable after altering the harness and hand grip. The strimmer and brush cutter functions are both good and the change over is simple with the tools provided but remember that it is a left hand thread. My use will be seasonal and therefore this tool is excellent for the purpose.

I have been using it with the brush cutter to clear an abandoned full size allotment. The high power motor, although welcome and necessary, does make the machine feel rather heavy in use, despite the sling. But I am 75. I have not used the line trimmer yet. This machine is well up to the usual high standard of Bosch. The trigger switch is very sensitive so I have found it better not to wear a glove on that hand, but I always wear the supplied glove on the other hand.

My cousin asked me to buy this for him, it was the cheapest price on the web. Since it arrived he's had a big smile on his face, it clears the garden faster and easier than before. He would've paid more just for the machine and the free extras were a bonus.

Q : Is the line extended by bump Or manual
A : Hi Henry, the line on the AFS 23-37 is actually a bit different to normal grass trimming line as it's more heavy duty and is already fully extended when you install it on the machine. The idea is that you shouldn't have to replenish it with the same regularity as the thinner types. You can see them if you search for product code 21006788 on our website, or look in the "suggested accesories.." section
Q : I am having difficulty changing strimmer to blade I have followed the instructions but no joy
A : Hi Denis, changing over the heads should be a fairly straightforward procedure but one thing the user manual doesn't perhaps make very clear is that there is a spindle lock in the metal component above where the spool sits. The diagram just shows a bar with two arrows protruding from this hole so it might not be immediately obvious what it is portraying! In fact, you rotate the spindle until this hole lines up with another hole underneath it then you the screwdriver end of the included box spanner into this hole to lock the spindle which should enable you to unscrew the spool head. I'm guessing this could be what you are having trouble with..?
Q : Can you attach a wire brush cutter to this product. The instructions on the wire brush say it can be attached to a straight shaft strimmer. If it can’t can you recommend one that you can attach the brush too
A : Hi Andy, please be aware that while it may be physically possible to attach third party accessories like wire brushes onto brush cutters it is definitely not safe to do so (and may wear out the motor). These machines should only ever be used with the manufacturers approved accessories.
Q : Hi, Probably a silly question but is this corded or cordless? Thanks.
A : Hi Becky, Bosch have omitted the power cable from the main images so it's not very obvious on first glance, but it is indeed a corded machine. Anything that has "Voltage: 240v" will be a corded tool which is plugged into a standard power socket
Q : Apologies if this is a silly question but is the head of the machine adjustable to greayer/lesser angles.
A : Hi Len, this machine has a fixed head - in fact both this and the other electric brush cutter we stock both have fixed heads I'm afraid
Q : With reference to the Bosch Genuine Extra Strong Line for AFS 23-37 Line Trimming Heads; Are the actual cutting parts made out of extra strong twisted plastic or are they twisted metal?
A : They look a bit like metal in the images but they are actually made from a hard grey plastic
Q : bosoch afs 23-37 is it included three prong blade and spool for cutting line and fixing tools.
A : I can confirm that this kit includes Brushcutter blade and Extra-strong line
Q : How long is the electric cable supplied with the product?
A : If an exact length is not quoted on the product cables are generally 8-10m.
