Have used Gardena secateurs for years. Product has been updated recently and while (imho) not quite as good as before, it is smooth and a joy to use (with thick leather glove on left hand!). Gardena build quality is second to none. And why did I change from earlier version? Because some idiot (who is writing this!) left secateurs on glove, and left glove on top of car and drove off!

I am a professional gardener. i normally use felco secateurs. i have tried a number of ratchet secateurs but they have all been cheap & poorly made. these are very good quality & enable the cutting of thicker branches with one hand. It's also very easy to switch the ratchet mechanism on & off. the only downside is that when the ratchet is switched off the various mechanical linkages still operate so cutting does feel a bit clunky at first however one gets used to it. the great advantage is that i can carry one lightweight tool that easily copes with most cutting. highly recommended. just one point these are not bypass secateurs but anvil secateurs.

This product carries a full 25 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables. In the unlikely event of a fault the item returned is subject to fair wear & tear and must not have been used beyond the scope of it's design.
Some manufacturers will offer a direct repair or replacement service (as applicable) which will often resolve your problem more quickly.
