The worst purchase i have ever made. I have had two replacement machines the second thankfully was a different model without the retractable tubes (although easier to use this also has its problems not least poor power and clogging).
back to this model, the design is quirky and ill conceived,in my opinion not fit for purpose. The sliding tubes do not move easily, the micro switch does not work well and the locking mechanism does not lock properly with the result that any slight nudge of the front in use renders it inoperable. Compared to my previous garden vac the power was poor for all purposes. I am not impressed with ryobi products so when the need arises i shall revert to a flymo vac.

Easy to use straight out of the box. generous amount of cable but will still need an extension lead for most gardens. powerful blower. moves wet and dry leaves. not too heavy but wheels do help.
suction is good but the whole thing is let down by the bag. it is not large enough, fills too quickly. not easy to empty. i had to shake it and put my hand in to get all the bits of leaf out. it does make a good job of chopping the leaves up but the bag keeps falling off the front support and drags along the ground. but the worst point is the bag does not fit securely to the machine and therefore leaks a lot of dust. also the bag itself lets the air out but generates a lot of dust at the same time. everything gets covered, machine, bag, trousers.
very good at blowing, requires re-designing for vacuuming.
i chose to just blow my leaves into a corner and transfer them to the green bin by hand. less aggro and less dust.

A bit heavy and a bit noisy as compared to other garden vacs but it performs really well.
the only problem that i had was that the extending tubes would not lock into place.
this problem was caused by the front bit (that carries the little wheels) was not correctly assembled and prevented the tubes from extending fully.
a few minutes with a small screwdriver soon put that right.
the only reason i have downrated on value is that it is after all quite expensive.
also i have downrated on build quality only because i had to get the screwdriver out !
