After looking at alternatives i bought this to replace an identical one which served faithfully and effectively for 6 years switching on and off regularly to keep rising water from flooding a cellar. old one eventually failed through an electrical fault probably caused by water getting in where it shouldn't as it still works except when completely submerged. A little tricky giving the float sufficient room to rise and fall on the end of its lead in a confined space without fouling on anything, and this could be a determining factor in some cases. the float needs to be able to rise and fall at a minimum distance of about 40cm from the body of the pump. It has to tip over to switch the pump on and off.
Brillant service
Great product
I think it is brilliant. I don't think i'll ever need to replace it.
Shifting dirty water in an overflow sump very nicely, we generally replace the pump there every 18 months to 2 years lets hope it goes on for at least that long, if it does it will have been exceptionally good value. It was much cheaper than the pumps we ususally buy.
This pump is pumping silo effulent which is nasty stuff. Works well with float and can move the volume fast.Time will tell
I only learned about the duty limit on hours of continuous running (6 hours) after i took delivery of the pumpand read the detailed specs :-). this replaces a pond pump that ran continuously for around 3 years for a big pond but that in the end failed . It needed to be cleaned of weeds and muck regularly or it would foul. i let it go untended for too long one time too many and it failed. :-( so, i got a digital timer, coupled it with rcd protection and have set the pump to run 3 hours on, 3 hours off, 7 days a week. we will see how long it lasts. it needs to last for 9 months to be as cost effective as the pump it replaces. the previous pump was a clean water fish pond pump that cost £260 so by comparison this pump is very reasonably priced. flow is strong. the deciding factor for me was that it is a dirty water pump so should need less attentiion.
I have had three and one is still in service. One failed within a couple of months and sealey refused to repair it under warranty. They are the judge and jury in deciding if any signs of use can be classed as abuse. pumps well when it works. The dangly cable and float devise is a terrible idea and just begs to get snagged up. I had to build a quite elaborate enclosure to ensure it couldn't happen. i am just waiting for this to give up the ghost and have an american zoeller pump waiting to do the job on a permanent basis.
Great quality and does what it says on the packaging.
Bought to clear excess rain water from our cellar. seems well built and performed very well when tested before installation. takes a little time to set the switch so that it comes on at the correct water depth.
Yes very good pump, have two of these now. One to empty a septic tank and one for draining an hot tub.
Very good pump for small price.I found the whole transaction excellent. The pump is running 14 hours daily and so far no problems,in fact it is far more powerful than 250 euro pump it is replacing.Thank you very much for great service.
Pleased with the purchase a good pump at a very compeditive price.
arrived as expected and does the job I bought it for.
Amazingly fast pump and really good value for the price. So far, it seems better than the more expensive DAB pump it replaces.
working very well so far, working in conjuntion with a filter to clear pond.
Yes very good unit using it to move very dirty water and it seems to be coping.
Ran for 48hrs and then fused the entire electricity supply. Retested and confirmed this was the case so dismantled what we could without any observeable fault and are currently re trying it.OK so far.
