I bought this border spade for professional tree planting on piece work. Planting between 300 to 400 plus a day. 15000 planted in the last few weeks and I find this a great handling spade ideal for this purpose. It has stood up to the rigours of use in some very rough ground well. I would certainly buy one again. Thinking of buying another as a spare in case the design changes or quality deteriates .

It is a quality product but unfortunately I made the wrong choice. I was looking for a light weight spade and went by some of the reviews which had mentioned it was light. However I did not realise that to see weight one had to scroll down to the bottom of the page. My fault entirely but it would have been easier if the weight had been given at the start with the dimensions.

Quality spade, light weight enough for me to easily use, I have weak wrists, good shape handle makes digging simple. Great having a 10 yr warranty too. Basically I would recommend it to everyone .

I have the 'Digging' version of this product down my allotment and it has survived a lot of use in heavy clay soil so I bought this one for use at home. It is well made and robust. Stainless blades win every time over carbon steel as they are easier to clean and there is less tendency for soil to stick to the blade. There is a lip at the top of the blade, which is useful if you have thin soled footwear. However, when digging holes for posts etc. the lip can get in the way.
