An outstanding alternative to a petrol strimmer. This thing is a beast. More powerful than i imagined and makes an easy job of strimming or brushcutting. A little fiddly changing from strimmer to brushcutter, but worth the trouble. Very competitive price and delivered very quickly. If you want to be tooled up, then go to tooled-up.Com and you won't be disappointed.

Used the ryobi several times already. Excellent buy and to be honest cheap as chips.

Good price, quickly delivered. Only used it once so far but it has performed very well strimming high grass very easily, neatly and quickly. Line lasts much longer than my other strimmer. Using the shoulder strap balances the machine very nicely with little or no direct weight on your arm.

Excellent so far the trimmer line lasts longer than others all good

Brilliant piece of machinery
took a while to assemble.
cuts long grass with the strimmer spool and the blade cuts into the overgrown shrubbery.
great for that first cut after the winter.
cost more than we were going to spend, but you get what you pay for and this is certainly worth paying that little bit extra

This is the best piece of garden equipment i have bought,it's saved me money already not buying s trimmer line, plus the hassle of re threading the line.It is also very powerful,a great piece of kit.Ian.

Excellent. As good as my ryobi petrol strimmer. Have not tried it with my expand it attachments yet.

My dislike was trying to assemble the brush cutter due to conflicting instructions between what the adviser said on the phone and what was supplied with the equipment with regards to the gearbox mounting at the end of the shaft and the plastic mounting. The accompanying instructions showed that the screws should be inserted downwards from the shaft rather than upwards from inside where the blade rotates. On speaking to two advisers at tti on two separate occasions i was told two different stories!! If you inserted the screws downwards as per the accompanying instructions the screws were not long enough to attach to the plastic guard. clearly the screws are meant to be inserted from the underside although there was some minor resistance when rotating the blade. Be warned. Having put the brush cutter together it feels solid due to its weight but once you put the harness strap on the handling takes over and once in motion is easy to use. The brush cutter is effective and if used like a scythe does the job very well and quickly. When using it as a strimmer again it does the job well and cannot be faulted. The only issue here is you have to take off the brushcutter and instal the separate trimmer head but since you get two for the price of one, one should not complain too much. Apart from the initial assembly i would rate it highly.

I have only used this cutter a few of times but it copes well with tough hedging (when fitted with the 'expandit' hedge trimming attachment) and is almost as good as a petrol-driven equivalent. Used with the brush cutting blade it again performed very well, easily coping with dense undergrowth. I've not used it with the strimmer line. The biggest plus for me is that it is electric and thus lighter and more convenient to use than a petrol-driven cutter.

With being less able now to control a large garden, this item has come to my rescue, especially using the metal cutting blade. Quite easy to handle and use.

Very happy with the strimmer. I've used petrol strimmers and this is just as good and you don't need to stop to refill fuel. It has plenty of power and cuts very long and wet grass easy. I would recommend this to anyone.

Another product that lives up to its name .I found both the cutter and the other attachment (chainsaw) perfect for the uses that are in my garden. It does take a bit of getting used too and certainly its a boys tool and to heavy for ladies. But certainly a tool that im pleased to own

This is a good powerful product and works really well but niggle little let things the product down like a silly shoulder strap catch that will not lock tight and keeps coming undone, but if you want a powerful electric strimmer i would recommend this one

The goods arrived very promptly and were as described. If you need a powerful strimmer and brush cutter this is it, bags of power and lighter to use than a petrol machine but you are limited to the length of your electic extention lead of course. This is my second ryobi electic 1020
so i have good experience of them.

I had a bit of a struggle to fit the brush cutter head as the instructions are not clear. However, when assembled i went outside and very quickly cleared an area of brush and brambles that had been annoying me. A very good bit of kit!

Bought this to replace my old petrol trimmer as it was the most powerful electric trimmer i'd seen and i needed something capable of tackling a large area including weeds and brambles. Great for cutting thicker grass and excellent power, nearly as powerful as my old petrol trimmer. Haven't used the brush cutter part of it yet but i'm sure it will work well given its power. This machine is well balanced and doesn't feel too heavy. It took a bit of getting used to as it is straight as opposed to curved, like most grass trimmers. The best thing for me is that it doesn't have anything like the amount of vibration that my old petroleum trimmer had.

Assembly instructions are not the best and it will take a little while to assemble. Tackled an extremely overgrown garden with both attachments, it coped very well. Brush cutter is sharp and not too brittle (won't shatter against rocks) and the bump feed strimmer is surprising powerful and coped with denser patches of grass with minimal fuss. Prefer the bump feed now, as you can control the usage of line. Supposedly can be used with other attachments as well. The strap helps to keep the thing light in your hands and reduces straining. All in all pleasantly surprised and hopefully it's reliable.
