Water Pumps

Water Pumps

There are number of different types of water pump, the most commonly used are the Submersible Water Pump, Surface Water Pump, Petrol Water Pump & drill powered water pump. Each has their own particular strength and use.

Submersible Water Pumps are used to pump water out of an area such as cellars, flooded gardens, ponds, pools etc and in most cases have an automatic cut out switch so they can be left to operate autonomously.

Surface Water Pumps move water from an area by first draining then pushing the water away. They are not submersible and are usually manually controlled.

Petrol Water Pumps are generally used where no power supply exists such as on farmland. They are more robust that electric water pumps and more powerful as a rule.

Note: Most pumps are not continuously rated or in other words cannot be left on all the time!
