I have only tried this yet on mountain bike tyres, and my car but it works a treat gets to 70PSI quickly and without getting hot. Lots of attachments so should be a great asset going forward
Gone through numerous tyre inflaters -all cheap and nasty and soon fail. This one seems more robust. Hope it lasts!

Customer Questions & Answers
Q : I only have 18 V black and decker batteries for my drill etc., and mains supply. Can I adapt this compressor to these supplies?
A : Hi Gordon, as mentioned in a previous response, this pump (along with several others of the same type) is only really intended to be powered from the 12v socket in a vehicle. You can find power adaptors that convert 240v mains into a 12v cigarette lighter type socket, although we don't stock any. As an alternative you might be interested in the Bosch EasyPump that we stock on product ID 21032805 - this has a built in battery and comes with a USB cable for recharging it.
Q : Hi when you have to use this air compressor do you need to leave the car with the engine running?
A : Hi Charlot, the 12v socket draws power from the car battery so the engine doesn't need to be running for it to work (when the engine is running it recharges this battery)
Q : Will the black and decker as1400 compressor inflate a caravan awning
A : I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't, although there are lots of different caravan awnings of course. The maximum pressure output by this compressor is 11 Bar / 160 PSI if that's any help
Q : Good Morning, Could you please tell me whether this item has mains power? Have a great day Many Thanks and Kindest Regards,
A : Hi Steve, on Black & Decker's UK website it mentions the fact that you can power it from the mains (or an 18v battery) but this appears to be a mistake and in fact it is only designed to be powered from a 12v socket. Many thanks, Tooled Up.
