You get what you pay for and this is a fantastic bit of kit. Well designed and well made.
So far really pleased with this tree pruner. I'm only 4ft 11inches in height so this has helped me prune a large apple tree and a very tall holly tree, I find it easy to use and adjust the angles of the blade. No strings or cables to get tangled in the branches!
fulfills its purpose well
Just the tool I needed being in my 70s now and saves accidents with the use of ladders which I dont need now
Order processed very efficiently. Very happy with the product.
really pucker piece of kit, gave it 4 star as the bottom push on handle comes off rather easily, cured by a couple of rotations of electrical tape then push back on
Fantastic product, delivered next day
Great company...Thank you..
Excellent product for reaching high branches.
Excellent piece of kit, good quality, great reach - far Better than the cheaper versions you can get which are definitely a false economy
Good value for money great product
Product is very light, easy to use and has a good reach. When cutting thicker stems or small branches a certain amount of strength is required.
Fiskars is a top quality manufacturer and this product is no exception. Easy to operate, not heavy and cuts branches with minimum effort. I was especially pleased with the customer service and care shown to me by Tooled-Up and will make future purchases with this reliable company.
Very easy to use, lightweight but sturdy. Cuts very easily and cleanly. The head folds away for safe storage. Really appreciated the 4m reach
Everything about the product was excellent but the delivery instructions got badly distorted to such an extent it nearly got sent back.
Very useful tool. Good for higher branches.
Great product although expensive but has the plus of being able to get add-ons such as a pruning saw as well replacement blades and parts should they become required. Bought to prune our large trees worked a treat, simple and easy to use. All the working cords are internal so don't get caught up. And it's far lighter than some smaller reach types on the market. An all round 5 star product.
The Fiskars UP86 is a well built tool and is very easy to use. It is light, sturdy and the cord runs down the centre of the pole so as not to get tangled in tree branches. I particularly like the adjustable cutting head which makes it easy to cut branches at awkward angles.
This is truly excellent piece of kit. Build quality is top notch and it works brilliantly even at full extension. I'm glad I paid the extra and avoided the cheaper alternatives that are available. The saw and fruit picking optional attachments are also excellent, and easy to use even at full extension. The pole is both light and strong, providing sufficient stability to make cuts without much effort. It works very well even amongst tangled branches due to its streamlined shape and having virtually no exposed parts.
Incredible piece of equipment. Pricey, but compared to cheaper versions it's a real bargain. You get what you pay for and with this super tool you well and truly get a remarkable and substantial product.
What I was looking for good product with spares available
Had my doubts that this tool would be man enough for the tasks I had for it ... boy I was wrong. It's exceeded my expectations in every sense & the price I got from tooled-up was the best i could find anywhere. Arrived within 24 hrs tracked, so I didn't even have to waste any time waiting in for it to arrive. Top quality product, great price & speedy delivery, what's not to like, happy days.
This is a splendid piece of kit. A really good example of "made up to a quality, not down to a price. Don't bother with cheaper (so called) equivalents - you only get what you pay for.
Absolutely great by far and away the best Extending pruner/ looper, I have ever used...so easy Not cheap but well worth it.
I am a self employed gardener the first one i bought i sheared the pivot rivet so i used a 3.5 bolt in place. The cord broke.Do not force the cut as this does not work only stresses the tool.I bought a 2nd one the following year as they only last a season i only use maybe once a week or less. can anyone recommend a better one
How thoughts can change in an instant... using the pruner for the first time my thoughts were how easy this pruner was able to cut down the high overhanging branches, however suddenly there was a loud noise from the cutting end and the sliding mechanism just collapsed, ie. No tension on the handle. on inspecting the cutting end the chain link had become detached from the black blade and disappeared from view. it looked at first as though the chain had be thrown into the air and probably ended up in a neighbours garden. however on loosening the bolt holding the head mechanism i was able to see that the chain had retracted into the head part and that it was the pin holding the visible part of the chain to the blade that had failed. this was a brand new pruner being used for the first time and was used on branches of soft wood.
Unlike most pruners of this kind there are no bits(ie pullies, wires, levers etc) to get caught up when pruning in a mass of twigs. the gearing makes cutting quite thick wood easy and the adjustable angle of the cutter is i think unique and emensely helpful. being aluminum it is light and manouverable and is clearly built to last full marks!
It has solved the problem of not having to climb to reach the top branches of my fruit trees.I have about twenty trees to prune and this pruner has shortened my pruning time significantly. the first pruner arrived damaged in the post but within 24 hrs a replacement one was sent following an e-mail photo of the original cracked handle and i was advised to retain the original for spare parts. I could not ask for better service.
Excellent service and great product to reach those hard to get branches.
Absolutely brilliant! robust and reliable. extending it is straightforward, and the cutting mechanism is much better designed than any other i've tried so far. hedge lopping has ceased to be a headache. with a pole saw for the thick stuff i'm finally properly equipped! wish i'd found it years ago.
If you have tall trees and don't want to be climbing trees or ladders then these are perfect, really well constructed and can cut quite large branches with ease. the length can be adjusted easily for all heights and because you can change the angle of the blades you can cut almost any angle. the only downside is when fully retracted they are still quite long and if your shed is less than 6 x 4 you might not be able to store them in it.
Exactly as it was described. Great reach, light and easy to use.
It is fabulous. It does everything i need and so easy to use. Would recommend this to anyone.
Simply the best pole pruner i have ever used - great control & reach - buy it!
This is a wonderful telescopic pruner that is very very easy to operate and eats through amazingly thick branches. i bought it to prune my apple and pear trees and it munched through them really quickly so i tried it on much thicker branches and was delighted by the performance. i have arthritic hands and often find tools hard to operate these days. i would highly recommend these pruners as there is very little pressure needed to cut and, even fully extended, are well balanced.
I have 5 large trees to prune found this very useful as everything can be done from the groundno no ladder climbing
A well made product
Sturdy construction with good pump action cutting feature.
Looks every inch like a quality item. well thought out, the adjustable angle on the head is such an important feature when cutting high up branches. it represents good value for money, especially compared with other loppers not much cheaper.
A great idea, allowing one to dispense with platforms and contractors. it needs a canny bit of wrist strength to deal with thick branches at the maximum height, but a great buy nevertheless!
Just used it to trim my trees, very easy to use with both feet on the ground which i find much safer, also the ability to move the cutting angle by simply using the orange nut on the head works so well. overall very impressed.
Such a long reach gets in amongst the tree branches you could never reach but does it with ease
Just what i needed to prune my climbing roses. it has amazing reach - up to the gutter level. ideal for someone of my years who's not too steady on a ladder. easy to operate too and cuts through quite thick branches. seemed a very reasonable price, especially considering the alternative was to pay someone every year to do the pruning. delighted.
First class for trimming high conifers - able to take tops off trees at full length of pole. Will prove to be a very good buy.
Wish i had bought one of these years ago .. no more standing on steps to reach the higher stems! sturdy build, easy to operate & can prune at any angle due to swivel mechanism built in to cutting head. overall it was definitely worth spending the money
Recently purchased and on a price comparison, leaves the competition standing. With the ability of being able to swivel the head, no cords and being able to hold the pole with both hands, allows full and easy control while cutting. Extremely well built and with the head already sprayed with white grease by me for protection, i can see no reason that its reliability shouldn't also get a '5' rating. Superb.
Does exactly what we want. No assembly needed. Easy to use
Well built exactly what i wanted. Very pleased.
Worked well, very well for a novice. Easy to use and figure out.
This replaced a sectional long-reach pruner that has seen many years of use but which now is impossible to fit together because of "wear and tear". This was the best option for a replacement that we found and the tooled-up price was way cheaper than anything else we saw. Even with the limited use it has had so far it looks like it will be very useful with the benefit of "custom" height adjustment (rather than the previous sectional stages of 2'6" a time. And it hasn't got the problem of the external cord types that of snag on nearby branches!
I have had this product before and ran over the head broke it, garden centre £99 tooled up £75 they are the best long reach pruners i have ever used and i have been using them commercially for years,,
I had previously owned a Fiskar tree lopper, which I found easy to use. However having bought this model I hadn't appreciated just how much heavier this model this is compared to the model that does not have the extension I am in my early 70's and go to the gym twice a week so reasonably fit. I doubt if anyone with say a bad back it would be impossible to use. In all honesty, had I bought the product at a hardware store I would have returned it without opening and using it
Too top heavy to use extended and a nuisance to have to change the cable which looks complicated on youtube! Well made and probably for tall strong men (although I am pretty tough) I think practice may make perfect but I'm waiting for the blister on my palm to heal first.
I purchased this pruner for my husband last year ,he used it last week for the first time and the spring popped out it is useless and at a price of almost £90 there must be a manufacturing fault for several people to say there's has also broke.Do they ever read these reviews or just turn a blind eye.
I recently bought these telescopic loppers. They were excellent for lopping short branches at height and the telescopic part worked well too. I was very pleased with them and they would have had a very good review. But they failed in just over a month and they had only been used a few times. I had to return them to the shop from which i bought them. The blade would not move from the closed position even though it had missed the stem to be cut. Once i managed to get the blade open it would not close again when the cord was pulled. I suspect the actual mechanism failed for some reason. I was using them to lop some climbing roses with stems under half an inch thick at the time. As they were under guarantee the shop would have changed them, but they did not have another pair. Disappointing. Not much else to say really.
