Great bit of kit and easy to cut even thicker stems. Reaches for the sky but still not difficult to hold
Brilliant item. Very good reach for tall trees
Seems an ideal piece of kit for reaching those higher branches and the adjustable length is a boon, easy to use not too heavy and cuts well for now. This is based on initial use of the loppers and durability is an unknown, but having other products from this manufacturer this should be more than OK for domestic use. I'm well pleased with them.
An excellent tool that is well worth the money.
Early days, but the lopper looks to be solidly made and worked well on a trial prune. Durability is something I can't comment on yet.
Really happy with product. Easy to use. Rapid delivery from Tooled-Up will use them again
Well packaged and prompt delivery..made light work of reducing the overhang of neighbours trees...appears to be well made (reflected by the 25yr warranty)..much easier to use than similar options with external draw rope that occasionally entangle with the foliage...would happily recommend.
This thing's really good. I see it's made by Husqvarna - it shows! Works very well indeed and does everything that's claimed for it, and more. One thing I would like to clarify, that doesn't come over too well in the translation, is its reach. Compressed, it measures 2.3 metres from tip to butt. Fully extended, it measures 4.3 metres from tip to butt. However, the jaws can be operated by pulling down either the orange sleeve/handle 2/3rds down the body of the pruner, or by pulling on the orange T-handle in the butt. So one person can locate it on a branch at full stretch and hold it in place, while a second operates the cutter by pulling on the T-handle - so you have a potential 6.5-metre reach. Works very well indeed indeed, once you get the hang of it!! Highly recommended!!
These are absolutely brilliant.
Within minutes of receipt my husband was using the Gardena pruner/lopper. He called from the other side of the hedge 'this is a brilliant piece of kit!' It certainly made short work of our slightly overgrown mixed hedge. Excellent!!
Early days yet with this tree pruner, but so far I have been extremely pleased with it. Very easy to use and no problems with cords getting tangled up in in twigs and branches as experienced with my previous tool. Added benefit is that there are 2 options to activate the cutter, which is very useful when you are at full stretch. Nicely designed and made and vastly superior to those tools which have exposed levers, pulleys and cords, plus it has a longer reach. What's not to like?
We purchased this pruner to use in our apple orchard, it worked well until the string broke, which is probably because it had done quite a lot of pruning, but the product was exchanged without any problems and we fully intend using if for next years pruning.
So far this product has been ideal for pruning & lopping the smaller high branches of my trees. too early for a review really but to date i am very satisfied.
Very good product
I bought this after borrowing one belonging to our neighbour. I must admit to being initially a bit surprised at the price, and if i hadn't already seen it in action, i may not have bought it. there doesn't seem to be much competition for it out there. having said all that, what a brilliant tool! i haven't tried using it from a ladder yet, but have found it light and easy to balance in awkward situations. it has made short work of the (other) neighbour's very high hedge (8m) as well as some unwanted pine and apple tree branches. early days to comment on reliability, but the engineering looks and 'feels' robust. i would definitely recommend it based on my experience so far.
I have used this twice on soft and hardwood trees and it does exactly what is claimed for it! Works easily, cuts medium 20mm branches with ease- getting up to 30mm it takes a bit more effort but does cut well! great height reach from the ground and suprisingly light for the height you can reach. The t bar handle at the end helps with positioning and stability! only down side could do with a pruning pull saw attachment for those sligtly thicker tall branches, even one that fitted to the shaft below the cutting head?
Does the job very successfully. however, when fully extended, it is difficult to see the cutting tip. also, when standing on a ladder with the tool fully extended it is easier to have a second person standing on the ground to pull the cord!
I work as an arborist and i have tried a number of similar products, including the friskars model available on this site. This is by far the best type of this pruner i have used. Well balanced, good build quality and nice features such as the t bar grip at the base and the over all length. Highly recommended.
This tools is the dogs. Having overhanging neighbours trees well above my gutter height i bought this tool to try and help. Standing on a step ladder i reached up to height of almost 8 metre's and then i got a ladder against the tree and reached another 2 metres on top of that. It managed to cut some quite thick branches and after an hour i no longer have a tree problem. Well worth the money. The only minor fault was the handle developed a small crack by the cord springing back up and hitting it but i can live with that for the great job it did.
Too heavy and cumbersome
I have found that it does not matter how tight i tighten the extension locking ring you can still push the extended section back in, when you use the end cutting puller it pulls the extended section back in as well. I am pretty strong so i dont think its me! The locking ring is plastic, so i know it will split if i really go for it and then what! So in this regard i am disappointed. So if you take this review seriously any suggestions?
