Q : What is better for an edging tool, carbon steel or stainless steel? Also, I've just received a £14.95 coated carbon steel edging tool as a present, ( the one with a red shaft), from yourselves, and the tip is chipped ? Advise on that too please ? Thank you, in anticipation, Deborah
A : Hi Deborah, carbon steel is generally easier to sharpen and holds a good edge but is prone to corrosion unless well looked after - stainless steel on the other hand needs much less maintenance and will resist rust and corrosion. I suppose it depends how badly the chipping is and whether you think it will affect the tool? If you think it warrants a replacement you could contact our returns department to go through the options.

This product carries a full 5 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables. In the unlikely event of a fault the item returned is subject to fair wear & tear and must not have been used beyond the scope of it's design.
