Why use a Lawn Raker or Scarifier?
When you cut your lawn there is a gradual build up of dead grass also known as thatch - which congregates just on top of the soil below the grass tips. This will impede drainage and stop air reaching the grass.
Moss builds up on damp or lawns in the shade and will again affect the grass in a similar way.
Lawn Scarifiers
A Scarifier will help to remove moss & thatch but will also cut through the surface of the lawn. This has a number of benefits such as aerating the underlying soil & splitting the grass into lots of separate plants thus thickening the turf and encouraging a healthy lawn.
Use a Scarifier once a year either in autumn or late spring when the grass is growing well.
Lawn Rakers
A Lawn Raker will remove moss, thatch & leaves. This will help to keep a nice tidy lawn whilst encouraging growth as old dead material is removed which would otherwise stifle this growth.
Use a Lawn Raker every 1 - 2 months while grass is growing well.

Good machine once it arrived and has worked well so far. Only thing is that it has a wheel that is wonky and I can’t adjust it. Poor build quality so disappointed with that. Despatching the item took forever but it’s here now. I highly recommend this machine as I have certainly tested it and it will remove moss/thatch with ease. The bag for collecting is too small and awkward to fit but no bag will ever be big enough so I don’t use it. Happy so far.

Only used it a few times but pleased with the purchase so far. Used the scarifier and it does very well to scrape out the moss on my lawn. Delivery a bit sketchy but understandable due to the current COVID-19 situation.

Q : This machine looks identical to the Hyundai HYSC210 scarifier with the same engine and specification, (though less expensive). Is it the same machine but badged as Webb's?
A : On the face of it I'd assume they are indeed both the same machine though unfortunately I'm unable to confirm as Webb don't divulge the source of any third party manufacturing, except where it is stated in the product description
Q : Is the engine a Briggs and Stratton 4 stroke?
A : It's a 212cc air-cooled four-stroke engine but it doesn't appear to be made by Briggs & Stratton (Webb describe it as a "Webb" engine)
Q : Does the price include both the scarifier (i.e. knives) and lawn rake (i.e. tines) cassettes?
A : Hi Cledwyn, yes - the WELS40P is supplied with both cassettes included

This product carries a full 2 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables.
