Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Bosch PowerForAll
The Bosch PowerForAll Tool range is a range of tools you can buy knowing that batteries are compatible with all tools in the range providing they are of the same voltage. eg 18v fits 18v, 12v (10.8v) fits 12v (10.8v) etc. Please also note that 10.8v is compatible with 12v & vice versa as it is just a name change. Indego Lawnmowers also use the PowerForAll 18v battery but require a cover plate to be removed if changing.
PowerForAll has many advantages not least the fact that once you have a tool with a few batteries then there is no need to buy the more expensive versions with battery & charger, you can just go ahead & buy the much cheaper no battery versions!
So remember PowerForAll signifies complete battery compatibility throughout the range. There is however, one caveat to this, some of the very first older chargers will not charge the very latest batteries & a battery charger upgrade will be required if you have a first generation charger. All batteries fit all tools however.
As of 2021 Bosch has licensed PowerForAll to other manufacturers whereby batteries between these manufacturers will be interchangeable.
Important
You cannot use Bosch Pro (Blue) batteries in either 12v or 18v DIY (Green) products.

The jigsaw is everything i would expect from bosch, good build quality, easy to assemble and great value for money. I have used the jigsaw for several projects on a variety of materials and it has tackled them all with ease. The universal wood blade that comes with the jigsaw is find for both soft and hardwood with minimal flex, improving accuracy when cutting. You can angle the base plate for 45deg cuts by loosening a screw on the base. It would be nice if this was a tool-less feature but it's fine as it is. Highly recommended.

Excellent product and so much easier than my old one that had a cable. I found that having two batteries was really useful and removed the need to wait between charges.

Does lots of work on one charge. speed is easily variable and the weight is right to be easily controllable cutting straight or curves, even if it has to be held to cut a vertical panel. cut quality is brilliant with very little surface fracture even on plywood. only slight downside i have found is under heavy use, and probably me putting sideways pressure on it, the baseplate can drift from square. if not checked before starting the next work, the cut is not vertical.

Q : Hello, I'm looking for a cordless jigsaw to match my existing batteries. The charger is an AL2215, batteries 2 607 336 207 & 2 607 336 921. They are used in PDR18Li and PSB18Li-2. Thanks Steve
A : Good afternoon, The charger and battery you have mentioned are older versions so you would be best to check with Bosch directly to see if they still sell a cordless jigsaw to go with your existing battery and charger.
Q : Does this jigsaw come with a battery AND battery charger for the advertised £75.95 or are the battery and charger not included for the £75.95?
A : Hi David, you'll notice you actually have to choose what batteries and charger you require from the green drop down menu before it will let you add this to your basket. The lowest price will be for for the bare tool version (no batteries, no charger, no case)
Q : Which battery charger is supplied as part of the deal? The photo looks like the 1830, but I see that you also sell a 1810 with 2.5Ah batteries. Obviously there's a 3x difference in charging times, which would be a problem if I wanted a bigger battery.
A : Hi Richard, I can confirm that currently all the battery kits we offer for the PST 18 LI come with the AL 1830 CV charger as pictured. There are some kits we do that come with the AL 1810 charger, but in this case all of the variations have the 1830.
Q : Which are the best jigsaw blades to use with this jigsaw? thanks
A : Hi Raymond, this jigsaw is compatible with all T-shank blades (the standard type these days) but aside from this, it really depends on the application and there is no real answer to this question! You can get lots of different jigsaw blades and they all have different strengths and weaknesses. Q : Is there a recommended dust collector/extractor for use with this PST 18Li?
A : Hi Nigel, well any vacuum cleaner or dust extractor will be suitable in theory, though you may need a stepped adaptor to connect the hose to the dust port on the jigsaw. You could look at the Bosch EASYVAC 3 (21008607) or ADVANCEDVAC 20 (21008596) - these machines will come ready to connect straight onto the PST 18 LI, and have the advantage of power tool take off sockets so you can use them with corded power tools and they will start up automatically each time the tool is switched on.
Q : Hi I have just purchased from you the Bosch advanced multi 18 volt oscillating multi tool, will the battery fit the this jigsaw ?
A : I can confirm that this Jigsaw is apart of the Power4All range and will be compatible with the Power4All batteries supplied with the Bosch ADVANCEDMULTI 18v Cordless Oscillating Multi Tool
Q : Can Bosch Li-on 18 volt batteries from the pro range be used with this Jigsaw
A : This tool is designed to work with power4all batteries and is not cross compatible with Bosch professional batteries.
