Fiskars is a top quality manufacturer and this product is no exception. Easy to operate, not heavy and cuts branches with minimum effort. I was especially pleased with the customer service and care shown to me by Tooled-Up and will make future purchases with this reliable company.
Very easy to use, lightweight but sturdy. Cuts very easily and cleanly. The head folds away for safe storage. Really appreciated the 4m reach
Everything about the product was excellent but the delivery instructions got badly distorted to such an extent it nearly got sent back.
Very useful tool. Good for higher branches.
Great product although expensive but has the plus of being able to get add-ons such as a pruning saw as well replacement blades and parts should they become required. Bought to prune our large trees worked a treat, simple and easy to use. All the working cords are internal so don't get caught up. And it's far lighter than some smaller reach types on the market. An all round 5 star product.
The Fiskars UP86 is a well built tool and is very easy to use. It is light, sturdy and the cord runs down the centre of the pole so as not to get tangled in tree branches. I particularly like the adjustable cutting head which makes it easy to cut branches at awkward angles.
This is truly excellent piece of kit. Build quality is top notch and it works brilliantly even at full extension. I'm glad I paid the extra and avoided the cheaper alternatives that are available. The saw and fruit picking optional attachments are also excellent, and easy to use even at full extension. The pole is both light and strong, providing sufficient stability to make cuts without much effort. It works very well even amongst tangled branches due to its streamlined shape and having virtually no exposed parts.
Incredible piece of equipment. Pricey, but compared to cheaper versions it's a real bargain. You get what you pay for and with this super tool you well and truly get a remarkable and substantial product.
What I was looking for good product with spares available
Had my doubts that this tool would be man enough for the tasks I had for it ... boy I was wrong. It's exceeded my expectations in every sense & the price I got from tooled-up was the best i could find anywhere. Arrived within 24 hrs tracked, so I didn't even have to waste any time waiting in for it to arrive. Top quality product, great price & speedy delivery, what's not to like, happy days.
This is a splendid piece of kit. A really good example of "made up to a quality, not down to a price. Don't bother with cheaper (so called) equivalents - you only get what you pay for.
Absolutely great by far and away the best Extending pruner/ looper, I have ever used...so easy Not cheap but well worth it.
I am a self employed gardener the first one i bought i sheared the pivot rivet so i used a 3.5 bolt in place. The cord broke.Do not force the cut as this does not work only stresses the tool.I bought a 2nd one the following year as they only last a season i only use maybe once a week or less. can anyone recommend a better one
How thoughts can change in an instant... using the pruner for the first time my thoughts were how easy this pruner was able to cut down the high overhanging branches, however suddenly there was a loud noise from the cutting end and the sliding mechanism just collapsed, ie. No tension on the handle. on inspecting the cutting end the chain link had become detached from the black blade and disappeared from view. it looked at first as though the chain had be thrown into the air and probably ended up in a neighbours garden. however on loosening the bolt holding the head mechanism i was able to see that the chain had retracted into the head part and that it was the pin holding the visible part of the chain to the blade that had failed. this was a brand new pruner being used for the first time and was used on branches of soft wood.
Unlike most pruners of this kind there are no bits(ie pullies, wires, levers etc) to get caught up when pruning in a mass of twigs. the gearing makes cutting quite thick wood easy and the adjustable angle of the cutter is i think unique and emensely helpful. being aluminum it is light and manouverable and is clearly built to last full marks!
It has solved the problem of not having to climb to reach the top branches of my fruit trees.I have about twenty trees to prune and this pruner has shortened my pruning time significantly. the first pruner arrived damaged in the post but within 24 hrs a replacement one was sent following an e-mail photo of the original cracked handle and i was advised to retain the original for spare parts. I could not ask for better service.
Excellent service and great product to reach those hard to get branches.
Absolutely brilliant! robust and reliable. extending it is straightforward, and the cutting mechanism is much better designed than any other i've tried so far. hedge lopping has ceased to be a headache. with a pole saw for the thick stuff i'm finally properly equipped! wish i'd found it years ago.
If you have tall trees and don't want to be climbing trees or ladders then these are perfect, really well constructed and can cut quite large branches with ease. the length can be adjusted easily for all heights and because you can change the angle of the blades you can cut almost any angle. the only downside is when fully retracted they are still quite long and if your shed is less than 6 x 4 you might not be able to store them in it.
Exactly as it was described. Great reach, light and easy to use.

Customer Questions & Answers
Q : I was recently given a new UPX82 tree pruner for a present. How do you alter the angle of the head?
A : Hi there, you should hopefully be able to see there is a padlock symbol next to the large orange knob on the side. If you turn the knob so it's unlocked you should then be able to adjust the angle of the head - then it's just a case of switching back to the locked position and you should be all good to go.
Q : spare parts i.e. black "rope" for Fiskars UP86 Telescopic Tree Pruner
A : Unfortunately, we do not currently stock the replacement parts for this item. However, if you call the manufacturer, Fiskars, direct on 01217960444.They should be able to put you in touch with a spare parts dealer.
