Great axe. If you want to split logs this is the axel you'll need. You don't need to pay loads, this is great value and great performance. Handle is comfortable, it's a joy to use. sharpener is not the same quality as the axe but does an acceptable job

The best splitting axe i have ever used, let alone owned. I am a tree surgeon so dealing with logs is something i do regularly. This axe is great for me to take on the job or split logs at home. The design stands out against any other axe on the market, it is effortless and a pleasure to use. I would recommend this axe to anyone

Extremely good at its job despite its lightness it splits logs much better than more traditional axes and does not stick in the log. It is generally less tiring to use for long periods

Wow i had my doubts when i thought i put the axe to the test on some beech, but i can say it made easy work of splitting the logs. Excellent axe all round.

An excellent axe. Very good splitting but not too heavy so efficient to split large quantities of logs. Had the older version for many years which was shorter but the new x27 splits much more effectively. I have not seen a better axe. Not rated reliability but assume this will be as good as my other fiskars axes.

I have other fiskars kit which i have been very pleased with, hence was drawn to his product. This axe is no exception, it is an excellent piece of kit. the build quality is excellent and it is well balanced. I would expect a new axe to glide through most reasonably sized logs, but using this was effortless. Tellingly, the axe had no problem splitting very knotted wood, and this was far easier than with my existing axe. the axe comes with a nifty 'head protector' which is useful. i would recommend this splitting axe if you don't mind spending that bit extra.

I'm new to splitting logs, so bought this axe based on web reviews. i am not disappointed. Ok, i've never tried any other axe or splitter, but for what i want, it's great. Not too heavy, and with a good swing, will split most seasoned logs first time. stays sharp, and no adverse shocks through the handle. i would recommend this axe.

Wow. For years i have been splitting logs with a maul, and it is hard work. A friend bought one of these splitting axes and sang its praises, so thought i would give it a go. Half the weight of the maul, and splits logs much more easily. Had been worried that it would stick in logs (a problem common to normal axes) but it really does not. Excellent tool. Really cannot recommend enough.

As most arborists will tell you, this is probably the best splitting axe at any price. The anti-stick blade really works and is much more easily removed when wedged in a log than a maul's. The lightweight construction means more accuracy and speed (and less strain on you). Having previously used heavy mauls i'm now converted. A pleasure to use. But mind your toes - it's very sharp!

Well i have found this to be a great axe. Ok it's light and wasnt sure how strong it would be but i really cant find fault at this stage. i've chopped about 4 cube of logs so far and its still super sharp. great product and seems to put up well with heavy use.
