This will impede drainage and stop air reaching the grass.Moss builds up on damp or lawns in the shade and will again affect the grass in a similiar way.Lawn ScarifiersA Scarifier will help to remove moss & thatch but will also cut through the surface of the lawn. This has a number of benefits such as aerating the underlying soil & spliting the grass into lots of separate plants thus thickening the turf and encouraging a healthy lawn.Use a Scarifier once a year either in autumn or late spring when the grass is growing well.Lawn RakersA Lawn Raker will remove moss, thatch & leaves. This will help to keep a nice tidy lawn whilst encouraging growth as old dead material is removed which would otherwise stifle this growth.Use a Lawn Raker every 1 - 2 months while grass is growing well.

For a fairly lightweight build this model does a great job on a 12mx12m domestic lawn for a very reasonable outlay. Wouldn't be robust enough for larger areas/pro gardeners.

never had to use such a piece of gardening equipment, but due to localised flooding earlier in the year (water above
ground disappeared around june) about 100' of lawn was drowned & died.
we used the lawn raker/scarifier to clear
the residue of grass/weed etc.It worked
very efficiently & with additional work,
the lawn/grass has/will return to a much
great for the young grandchildren.

I need some dry weather to test it properly!

It was a "no brainier" really, when this electric rake was nearly half the price of any others i looked at and was a well known brand.
first impressions are that it is doing a grand job, i am getting about twice as much cuttings and debris off of the lawn, as i collect while just mowing, so i am fairly confident the lawn is being left in a much better state than before.

I bought this to replace a qualcast which ran well for 15 years, used twice per annum on a relatively small area of grass (c50 sq m). this one costs quite a bit less and does not feel so robust -time will tell. The grass box fills quickly, but the lawnraker does what it is supposed to do and is, if anything, more powerful than its predecessor removing quite a bit more moss and thatch. however, i miss being able to fold the handles for stowing the machine away, a simple design fix, given its infrequent use. it only has 3 height positions, but first impression is that this is enough. i recommend this product but it remains to be seen how well it lasts.

Good value overall.Has removed a lot of moss after just one use.Would definitely recommend to others.

Amazing the amount of moss & thatch that gets embedded in a lawn over time.
seemed to remove it with ease though.
the moss etc collection basket could be better designed as it easily overflows back into the machine.
