Purchased the karcher sbp3800 2 in 1 water pump to go in my 210 ltr water butt. i found it easy to assemble and with the large clip on the float switch end it is easy to connect to garden hose, switch on the dial using the float switch. works a treat now for watering flowers in the back garden without having to use mains water. excellent service tooled-up.Com. a bit pricier than other water pumps but this is ideal for what i wanted and specific to the task. Can also be used to pump out flood water.

this pump takes an age to reach it maximun output which seems poorer than i expected.

As with all karcher products this seems a little on the expensive side compared to rival products, but then it also seems better so fair enough i guess! this happily pumps water about 65m up our garden (slightly uphill all the way, standard garden hose fully extended) with enough pressure to run a very basic sprinkler (not enough to run a posh, moving one). The sprinkler has a range of about 10 feet when it's running. it is quiet (almost silent) and easy to use, either using the float switch or manually (in fact in manual mode all you do is fit the float switch into the big triangular yellow but on the handle and rotate it so it switches the pump on and off). the instructions weren't brilliant, took me a while to work out what was going on with the float switch.

Superb piece of kit. Does what karcher says with no exaggerated claims. for the price difference i'd always go with this model over the less powerful version. very happy with the purchase and the turnaround on the order was very quick.

Fantastic with karcher presure washer when it is being used with water butts. also great for watering the garden with hose pipe asi am not runing back and foreward with watering cans. money well spent great for cleaning patio with pump, presure washer, and water butt. very very pleased.

I'm using this to pump collected rainwater into my loft (2 storey building) for use in the toilet flush etc., which it does remarkably fast. my only problem is that the float is quite large and therefore the water level difference between switching on and switching off is larger than i would like for my purpose.

Purchased this pump to try and save money on the water bill, as i am a stickler for a clean car. Simple to use, just drop into the water butt, plug in and bingo, it's ready to rock. Supplies plenty of pressure. Using a karcher pressure washer it works directly from the water butt, but with the snowfoam attachment connected the pressure alone from the water butt wasn't enough. This pump easily supplies the pressure required. Great product so far.

Have not had much chance of testing this pump yet but if it is up to the usual karcher standard then all should be as it should be. I am looking forward to exploring its features and also saving on the water bill!!!

Not really used in anger yet but tested the unit out by suspending in a water butt and connecting to a small length of hose. the hose was very easy to connect onto a 'hozelock' type connector which is on the hook which goes over the rim of the water butt - no fiddling around in the depths of the butt. the float switch can either be placed in the housing (yellow triangle) or dangled in the water. we kept it in the housing and at first thought the unit wasn't working when we tried to switch it on. we then realised that the yellow triangle needed to moved round further than perhaps the instructions show to switch the pump on. it then worked very well. the flow rate seemd to be very good but this was over a short distance. the pump was very quiet in use. we have yet to use it properly i.E. Pumping water from our water butts to a pond but we are hopeful that it will do the job well when the time comes.

The image is rather misleading - there is no stiff connection between the pump and the control head. It is just a hose pipe and so it would not stand up on its own. To use the pump as shown you would need to hook the control head over a chair back or similar support. The yellow triangle is a float switch, and can be used manually, as shown, by rotating it between 2 click points to switch the pump on and off, or allowing it to dangle into the water so that when the level falls below a certain limit the pump will switch itself off. The limit is determined by how much flex is left free. Unfortunately the flex is fairly stiff and so it is a little restrictive to use in practice. having said all this it is an excellent pump with good flow rate for the price. It will run happily with the flow blocked, and so can be used to feed a pressure washer - eg with soft water for car washing - or in the so called bowser mode as famously used by no. 10 downing street to water their roses during a hose pipe ban! Apparently you fill up a container from the tap - not using a hose - and then you pump the water out of the container onto your plants using a hose "not connected to the mains". The rules do change from year to year so check first!!

Great for moving large quantities of water to a pond and for garden watering. clip for valve works well on a straight edge but does not fit conventional garden water barrel.

Have used pump twice, found it easy to use does everything according to specification. Will know more next summer when hopefully it will be in use a lot more.
