Clears lawn very well of moss. Collection box needs emptying very frequently ,but then again i had more moss than grass. Lawn has several bald patches now ,but that was down to the state of it before i started, it also seems to cut at the same time so mow first or you will need an apprentice to keep emptying it, its easy to use, and nice and light, but well made. I would certainly recommend this it doesnt have spring tines that want to snap & need replacing regulary so go ahead & treat yourself and the lawn.

The problem i had before scarifying was that after mowing, there were always areas of brown. Apparently this is because the "thatch" part of the lawn is too thick and after my normal cut, the topmost green part of lawn was removed leaving only the thick brown thatch underneath. i bought this product as part of a process to try and get the lawn healthy again. i'm pleased with the avr1100 and i think its worked well in getting the moss and thatch out of my 1/3 acre lawn. it seems to have cut the grass as well so make sure the lawn has been recently mowed before you scarify or you'll be filling the box too quickly as you go. using the top most setting, i was filling the box every 20 feet or so. in really bad areas of moss, i only went about 8 feet before it was full. it took about 8 hours and i filled 12 "builders sand" bags in the end (!). the machine leaves grooves in the ground(verticutter?). These lines soon dissapear and i understand it makes sure that air can get to the grass roots which is supposed to be a good thing. not all lawn rakes do this and this was one of the deciding factor for me with buying this machine. the lawn now looks quite bare but after a few days (and a bit of rain), i can already see the green coming back through and i'm quietly confident that it will look great in a month's time and easier to mow. i don't think a lesser powered machine would have worked for me. If the motor and box had been any smaller, i think the job would have been a nightmare and may not have performed as well on what was once a severely neglected lawn. looking good - a thumbs up :)

My initial impression is favourable. It is clearly man enough for the job which, considering the state of my lawns, is a major consideration for me. As my main problem is moss i would probably have preferred a system that was more discriminating - if it has a fault it is that it removes a fair amount of grass at the same time - but i would imagine that is a feature common to all scarifiers.

Clears lawn very well of thatch & moss. collection box very good, holds much more than my previous make of lawnraker. easy to use, very light. i would certainly recommend this, particularly if you have a large lawn.

Far better than i expected at tackling deeply embedded moss in a poor quality lawn. Scarifying function more impressive than expected even on hard dry soil and raking performance adequate. Very easy to use. Collects extremely well until box get nears full but with practice you know how long till emptying avoiding spill. I would give the product a high rating as it did a better job than the petrol version used by my neighbours professional gardeners and clearly costing a lot more. Not noisy, great! Compacts well for storage. Would be easy to overdo a lawn; i suspect twice a year is more than adequate. I found a criss cross approach was very effective at making progress on my neglected lawn and followed by lawn sand the moss is nearly all gone.

Brilliant verticutting be carefil not to go too deep as you wont have any grass left. saves damaging your back raking out the thatch. best bit of garden kit i have bought for years

I have used this 3 times so far on a lawn about 80m square, and it has performed very well. It works really well as a scarifier (esp. on the lowest setting) and pretty well as a lawn rake, although I think the ones with the spring tines probably work better at raking thatch and moss out (I had a Qualcast lawn rake before, but this broke after about 3 years). It is very effective at collecting everything it rakes up, which does mean that the collection box has to be emptied often. Fitting the box back on is a bit fiddly at first, but once I got the knack, it became easy. I'm not completely convinced about build quality; the collection box in particular is quite flimsy, but I suppose time will tell. Oh, and the power cable is far too short - that's the only major gripe. Overall, I'm very satisfied, and the price was good.

Purchased after looking at several alternative machines. Initially sceptical of the build quality compared to metal Cylinder scarifiers but after positive fedback from a friend decided to take the plunge. To sum up - a very impressive machine. I was amazed at the amount of thatch / moss it picks up , and that was on setting 2 out of the 4 available. Yes the basket fills up quickly, thats the price you pay if the machine is doing its job well !!

Very very pleased with this bit of kit. Had other scarifiers before but none as good as this one. You better be prepared for the ammount of rubbish this thing is going to clear from your lawn. Its amazing. The build and quality of the lawnraker is excellent. It feels solid and able to do the job as soon as you start. The collection box is okay once you have got in to the method of fixing back in place each time. As for 'tooled up'excellent service and mega fast delivery. My order went in late at night and within a day and half i was using it in anger. 10/10

good product, really effective in giving a fresh look to the garden. takes all the debris away, but as far as clearing the weeds is concerned it is still a struggle. Can clear the moss upto 80-90%. Verticutter action is good if you want to sow the grass seeds, but make sure soil is soft. Recommend it

Although the collection box would appear to be a little on the flimsy side, this product leaves other products of a similar price standing. The moss and thatch removal was extremely impressive and although I dont have a massive lawn, I quickly ran out of space in my green bin! It's a little bit aukward in tight gardens or where a fence runs along the edge of the lawn, but the overall results are excellent and the product comes highly recommended by me.

Perfection machine either you need to get the loss/thatch or rubbish cleared off from the garden or need to aerate the ground using 10mm cutting into the ground with this verticutter. After doing the verticutting you can plant the grass seeds if necessary. It completely gives a new brand look to the garden. Small 10m lead is not a big issue if you have extension lead.the whole garden looks neat as if it has been hoovered at the same time also had its 'hair cut'. Highly recommened.

With a 600 Yard lawn and being a 80 year old Ifound Bosch AVR1100 a very good product,so easy to use,well worth the money.By the way Tooled Up are very Efficient at their job too.

brilliant. I have the bosch rotak lawnmower and as such am a convert to bosch. this scarifier has reenergised my front lawn which was like a mattress from the amount of moss build up over the years. lawn was 5Mx5M and I managed to get 9 bags of moss and thatch out of it in not time at all. easy to put together and collection box is fine for what it needs to do. the cable is short, yet my extension lead solves that. very light and very easy to use - highly recommneded

Good product, works well. Worth the money. Produces so much moss that I prefer not to use the box, but rake up afterwards. If only it could magic away the mounds of moss as well!

Bosch tools have always been my favourite This lawnraker is so easy to use. Downside is that it does its job too well a lot of thatch to get rid of. Choose the day you use the raker ideal when slightly damp.

To date I have used the scarifier only once and I am very pleased with its performance. My only adverse criticism is that the cable is a little short and is not adequately supported where it enters the operating switch. I very much like the design of the centrifugal cutters instead of fixed blades which my last machine had. Extremely light and easy to use.

The machine has done a good job of lifting the surface rubbish, the collection system is very good, lifting and packing is very efficient. The structure of the waste storage holder is a bit suspect considering the amount it can carry,(it picks up earth as well as grass). Unevan surfaces are a bit difficult if the lowest levals are to be cleared which takes the surounding surfaces off, I think the option of tynes as well would make it a more rounded machine

Good quality product. Very effective at removing moss and dead grass. Light and easy to operate. Simple to adjust scarifying height. Good, efficient service from Tooled-Up.

Super delivery service have used the unit on two lawns but could not do the big lawn yet too dry really much better than the springs ones !
