Karcher Eco!Booster Nozzles

Karcher Eco!Booster Range
Karcher have recently expanded their pressure washer accessory range in both the Domestic and Professional product groups with a new type of Eco!Booster nozzle. These nozzles are available in a range of configurations but essentially the only difference between them is the machines that they’re compatible with: the underlying design principle is the same for each Eco!Booster nozzle, and Karcher are saying that it can bring some real benefits to your cleaning workflow. So what are these benefits exactly, and what makes these new nozzles different to all the others?
The new Eco!Booster Nozzle in Detail
The first thing that stands out is the Eco!Booster is a large nozzle. They are much bigger than the standard Karcher spray nozzles, with a distinctive fan shaped design which makes them easy to identify.

But it’s not only the dimensions of the unit itself which have been increased – they are designed to deliver a wide spray jet which covers 50% more surface area than the existing Karcher flat jet nozzles, and this means that cleaning jobs can be completed faster than before – a time saving upgrade which is not only convenient for domestic users, but will really help to improve workplace efficiency in fast paced industries like construction and vehicle cleaning.

Eco! Credentials
The increased area performance from the Eco!Booster doesn’t only save you time but also uses up less resources. This is because it doesn’t use any more water or energy than a standard nozzle – however, it enables you to finish up and switch everything off faster. This translates to 50% higher water and energy efficiency in comparison with existing Karcher flat jet nozzles.
Ideal for Sensitive Surfaces
Since the Eco!Booster spray pattern is less concentrated than the direct jet blast of other nozzles in the Karcher range, it is not as aggressive and is therefore especially suited to materials which are more easily marked or damaged by high pressure cleaning – for example painted or wooden surfaces can both be thoroughly cleaned without fear of leaving them in a worse condition than when you started. Of course, if you come across stubborn dirt that simply can’t be shifted by the Eco!Booster, it’s simple enough to switch over to an alternative nozzle for more concentrated cleaning power when required.

Which Eco!Booster Nozzle Do I Need?
If you’re thinking of purchasing one of the new Eco!Booster nozzles you’ll find that there are several options available and it’s important to double check which type of machine you have first. If you own a pressure washer from the K series, which is the range Karcher make for the Domestic market, you’ll need to check your model number and see whether one of the K series Eco!Booster nozzles will be appropriate. Currently they are available for K 4, K 5 and K 7 variants but be sure to check the compatibility list in detail as older K machines may not be supported.
The Professional Eco!Booster range is a bit more wide ranging and may not seem as straightforward on first glance as it’s categorised according to the nozzle size of the machines they’re suitable for – so, for example the TR030 Eco!Booster is suitable for Karcher Professional pressure washers with a nozzle size of 030, and this particular nozzle size means it can be used with HD 4/9, HD 4/10 and HD 4/11 machines.
Something to be aware of here is that all the Professional Eco!Booster nozzles have an Easy!Lock connector, and this means the pressure washer itself has to have a corresponding Easy!Lock connection system in order to fit the nozzle. Since the Easy!Lock system was introduced fairly recently, many users will have older versions of current models which used the older connection system, and there are also some current models on the market which use the older connection system as well. The good news is it is still perfectly possible to fit an Eco!Booster onto a non-Easy!Lock pressure washer (as long as it is otherwise compatible) but in order to do this, an additional Easy!Lock adaptor will also be required. These adaptors are available separately, and will also enable you to use many other types of newer accessory as well.
