Bosch INDEGO S+ 500 P4A 18v Cordless Smart Robotic Lawnmower 500m2 190mm

I purchased the Bosch Indigo S+500 robot mower because I was finding it harder to mow my lawn with a standard lawnmower due to ill health. The lawn is an very irregular L shape, rather uneven and on two levels with a slope in-between. The docking station and boundary wire were installed according to the excellent instructions, with pegs at 750mm spacing except where turns or dips required extra pegs. The mower was set off and completed the first cut without problems, except that the mower didn't dock properly – see item 2 below. It is nice that it maps the lawn and cuts in a proper stripe pattern, not missing any areas. This seems much better to me than the random, hope we get it all eventually system that most of it's competitors use. There were some issues, and I have detailed these below: 1. The power cable to the docking station is only 5 metres long. This caused problems with where to locate it in my garden, and probably many others. It needs to be a few metres longer. 2. My docking station is in a 'corner' location, and you have to change a setting on the mower to get the mower to dock properly. This is in the instructions, but I must have missed it. 3. The boundary wire peg spacing of 750mm proved to be insufficient for my rather uneven lawn. Although OK for the 50mm cut height, on the 40mm height on a sunny afternoon the mower cut the wire. It seems that the wire expands when heated and this made it too high. The repair was easily made with the supplied splice connector, but on reviewing the boundary wire on my lawn I decided to put in extra pegs. I fortunately had just enough pegs in the kit to halve the spacing to about 370mm and this has made a much better job of it.

I purchased this item from tooled up.com. When it arrived, unfortunately it was faulty. I called tooled up and spoke to Lise, who was extremely helpful. She arranged for the faulty item to be collected the next day and once tooled up had received it Lisa arranged for a replacement item to be shipped. A very big thank you to Lisa who was extremely helpful and went above and beyond, calling me to keep me updated etc and to ensure that the faulty item was exchanged with the minimum of fuss. Great customer service from tooled up.com and a massive thanks to Lisa for her professionalism and assistance.
