Bobbin Sanders
A bobbin sander, or spindle sander, can be fitted with various sizes of drum, onto which sanding tubes are affixed. In use the drum spins around while moving up and down to maximize the area that comes into contact with the workpiece (thereby reducing premature wear). Bobbin sanders are primarily designed for sanding inside curves and are commonly found in the workshops of users such as luthiers and furniture makers. Some bobbin sanders have fixed tables and other models incorporate a tilting facility which enables bevels to be sanded.
Bobbin Sander Safety:
The fine dust created when sanding can be hazardous so suitable respiratory protection should be worn when operating a bobbin sander. Loading...
