Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Bosch PowerForAll
The Bosch PowerForAll Tool range is a range of tools you can buy knowing that batteries are compatible with all tools in the range providing they are of the same voltage. eg 18v fits 18v, 12v (10.8v) fits 12v (10.8v) etc. Please also note that 10.8v is compatible with 12v & vice versa as it is just a name change. Indego Lawnmowers also use the PowerForAll 18v battery but require a cover plate to be removed if changing.
PowerForAll has many advantages not least the fact that once you have a tool with a few batteries then there is no need to buy the more expensive versions with battery & charger, you can just go ahead & buy the much cheaper no battery versions!
So remember PowerForAll signifies complete battery compatibility throughout the range. There is however, one caveat to this, some of the very first older chargers will not charge the very latest batteries & a battery charger upgrade will be required if you have a first generation charger. All batteries fit all tools however.
As of 2021 Bosch has licensed PowerForAll to other manufacturers whereby batteries between these manufacturers will be interchangeable.
Important
You cannot use Bosch Pro (Blue) batteries in either 12v or 18v DIY (Green) products.

I like it. Only used in the garden so far, but it certainly makes light work of some quite thick branches in hard to reach places. It's quite heavy but well balanced, and the control is positive with speed controlled by increasing button depression. I'm sure I'll soon find other uses for the saw, and need to get some different blades.

Very decent and well made tool, as one would expect from Bosch. Nicely balanced and easy to use and control - not too much noise or vibration. I do wish, though, that Bosch would provide a proper permanent case for the tool and its accessories, even if as an option. A cardboard box is not likely to satisfy many owners.

You honestly can't beat Bosch for quality and performance at a reasonable price. They do a Pro range for errr...pro's.... but the normal range is top notch stuff and this saw was no different. Easy to use, well built, decent manual and part of the One4All range so I can use any of the 18V batteries I have from Bosch in any tool. I bought 5 blades all of which are super sharp and the SDS system makes changing them a doddle. A lovely bit of kit.

I’ve been using the s1111k blades and they are very good for green wood. I can recommend them. The Bosch recip saw and these blades go through thick laurel branches like a hot knife through butter.

Q : Is this item compatible with 18v 1.5ah power for all batteries.
A : Hi Maggie, yes it will work with 1.5ah Power For All batteries - the only difference is that you'll get a shorter runtime than with those of 2.0ah and above
Q : Hi I need to replace my Bosch PSA18 li sabre saw which is part of the Power 4All 18v range. The saw was 3 years old but appears to be discontinued. Will the Advancerecip 18v saw take my existing batteries ? Cheers Jonathan
A : Hi Jonathan, yes your existing batteries will work no problem. Bosch have essentially used the same battery ever since they introduced the Power4All platform - the only compatibility issue is with some of the recent large capacity batteries (4ah etc) which won't fit onto the first generation chargers.
Q : Is this the new model 06033B2402 and does it come in a plastic case?
A : Hi Peter, the bare tool is Bosch part number 06033B2402 yes. On that note we sell this product in a variety of different options (chosen from the green drop down menu) but currently none of the available kit versions are supplied with a case.
