Bosch ADVANCEDROTAK 36-650 36v Cordless Rotary Lawnmower 420mm
Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.

As I already had the older version, this new one is a small step up. Very quiet, mows well & easy to handle. Yes I would recommend this to anyone. So good in fact, I bought one for my daughter.
Update from my purchase in 2022. Just after 12 months the mower failed. My guess was that the motor had burnt out. It was a little disappointing considering it was only a year old and this may have been a problem had I not activated the extended warranty. I did advise TooledUp of this problem and they were very helpful - they are a very good company! Bosch to be fair to them picked up the machine and about a month later it was delivered back repaired. During this time the grass was growing so I had to resort to using my old flymo and a VERY LONG cable. Considering its age it did very well though mowing took about 10 times longer. Anyway the repaired machine was rendered unusable due to the lugs which locked in the handle had been bent. Considering these are made of fairly heavy duty steel it must had received quite a wallop. I had to kick up a stink with Bosch and quoted the Consumer Rights Act and they duly obliged by sending me a brand new replacement. The new machine works as well as the old one and as I also have a Bosch strimmer and leaf blower which use the same batteries I can now do the whole of the garden in 1.5 batteries. It's still a great mower but I recommend activating the extended warranty. It's free and Bosch will pick up your product at their cost. With that in mind - keep the box!
Excellent service from Tooled-up and very good mower.
A year ago we moved to a new house with a half acre field attached to it. This meant we either needed a ride on mower or a cordless mower of some sort. As time has gone by and we landscaped areas and fenced off others it became clear a battery mower would be the solution. I already had a couple of other Bosch items with the same battery format so it seemed logical to continue with a trusted brand. Initially I wanted the 750 or 850 model but they appeared to be constantly out of stock - I must thank Tooled Up customer services at this point who were very quick to answer my questions and refund my order for the 750 when the delivery date was going to be in May. However the 650 model was available and the only difference I could see was a slightly narrower cut. When you've got half an acre to cut 2cm is insignificant. First impressions. Very tidy design which is very easy to set up. The only thing I really needed to research was the kill switch which is a neat idea. It is heavy though and don't expect it to swish around like a flymo. The only weak point I could indicate is the flip cover for the battery. It seems a little flimsy so don't be too rough with it. First cut: By my calculations I expected one battery to complete around 2/3 of the field. It actually did about 3/4 so that was impressive. As mentioned earlier its not the most moveable of mowers. Straight lines are easy but you do need to use a bit of muscle if going up an incline. It is quite a heft. I'm ok but worth noting if you have mobility problems. The roller produced some neat rows and the cut was tidy and even. I had it on height setting 5. The grass collector lasted a full charge before emptying. There was some spillage but I might not have attached it correctly. I'll have a closer look with the next cut. However it did collect and the mower was easy to clean up after as well. IT also coped well with the uneven ground - which indicates the weight is a bonus in this respect. In summary, I've only got a corded Flymo and a brief experience with a ride on to compare but I enjoyed using the Bosch. It gave a neat cut and the battery lasted well. I do have a couple of other batteries for other Bosch tools so this is easy to extend if I need it. The only two downsides I think would be the battery cover. The two plastic clips which hold it down are a bit tight which makes me think they will break. The other negative is the weight of the unit. The carry handle is well placed but moving the machine around could be a problem if you have strength/mobility issues. The machine is worth considering if you have a large lawn.
Excellent lawnmower. Managed to cut over 400 sqm on one battery charge (4A battery). Leaf cutting very good and the quality of the grass cut is excellent. Easy to manouevre and folding handles are great. Only complaint as such is that when the handles are extended, they flex quite a lot which cheapens the high quality build of this lawnmower.
Great Mower, easy to put together, battery easy to fit & release, and yes this model has a roller ......so glad I have gone cordless
I find the lawn mower is better than my expectation and is wonderfully easy to put together and operate, only purchased 1 X 2 amp battery and it did not empty enough to need recharging. I would recommend the sturdier models for durability and performance and you obviously you get what you pay for. Very pleased.
Forget Gtech, Black and Decker and the rest , when it comes to lawnmowers pay at little more and stick with Bosch as I have for over 20 years

Customer Questions & Answers
Q : Bosch UK have told me that all their UK market cordless lawnmowers that come with a battery have a rear roller without exception. Those packaged without a battery do not. If it were clearer on your site whether these are non-uk market models I might buy one. The non-uk market models do not conform to the above rule and do not have a roller. Are they Bosch UK market models or not?
A : Hi Patrick, this roller issue causes no end of problems - what we have decided to do going forwards is to only buy the battery versions from Bosch and then add or remove batteries as necessary to ensure they are all consistent. The only Rotak model we can't do this on currently is the AdvancedRotak 36-750, but all versions of the AdvancedRotak 36-650 we are now able to send out with a roller, so I can confirm you will get one if you order any of the versions of this mower from our site
Q : Hello, Does the 36-650 have a rear roller for lawn stripes? Many thanks, Tania
A : Hi Tania, unfortunately Bosch seem to be a bit inconsistent with this. They do make them with rollers, supposedly only for the UK market, but don't appear to supply them with every machine, and make no mention of it in their general product info for the range. Therefore to avoid disappointment I would assume that it doesn't come with a roller. If you specifically need this feature you can select this as an option in our main lawnmowers category to filter out all the lawnmowers that have one
Q : Does the Bosch Advancedrotac 36~650 use the same rechargeable battery as the Rotak 410?
A : Hi Peter, yes the Bosch lithium ion batteries have essentially remained the same throughout the different generations of 36v Rotak mowers so far - the newer ones are a different colour and are available in larger capacities (the ah rating) but they are all fully interchangeable.
Q : What is the difference between the advanced rotak range and the other cordless mowers (rotak and universal) ?
A : Apart from the individual specifications between the machines, one of the primary features of the AdvancedRotak range is their ProSilence noise damping which helps to ensure you don't disturb others in the vicinity so much while using the mower
