Why use a Lawn Raker or Scarifier?
When you cut your lawn there is a gradual build up of dead grass also known as thatch - which congregates just on top of the soil below the grass tips. This will impede drainage and stop air reaching the grass.
Moss builds up on damp or lawns in the shade and will again affect the grass in a similar way.
Lawn Scarifiers
A Scarifier will help to remove moss & thatch but will also cut through the surface of the lawn. This has a number of benefits such as aerating the underlying soil & splitting the grass into lots of separate plants thus thickening the turf and encouraging a healthy lawn.
Use a Scarifier once a year either in autumn or late spring when the grass is growing well.
Lawn Rakers
A Lawn Raker will remove moss, thatch & leaves. This will help to keep a nice tidy lawn whilst encouraging growth as old dead material is removed which would otherwise stifle this growth.
Use a Lawn Raker every 1 - 2 months while grass is growing well.

Q : Is this in stock. The note under the price says usually dispatched in 8 days.
A : When it says this it means we will have to order it in from the supplier before sending it out - if an item is available in the warehouse for immediate despatch it should say something like "order by 3.00PM for same day despatch" If you go back into the main category (Lawn Rakers and Scarifiers in this case) you will also be able to see all the options that are currently in stock and available to ship out immediately

Q : Is this model a scarifier and a lawn raker?
A : Hi Lorraine, yes the UniversalVerticut 1100 is used for ground cutting to encourage new lawn growth, along with moss and thatch removal through its jet-collect system. The operating heights can be adjusted easily for ground cutting, moss and thatch removal and leaf collection.

This product carries a full 3 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables. In the unlikely event of a fault the item returned is subject to fair wear & tear and must not have been used beyond the scope of it's design. Please note that cordless products will normally have a shorter warranty of just 1 Year for the battery and or charger supplied.
