Makita DCO181 18v LXT Cordless Brushless Drywall Cutter
The Makita DCO181 is a cordless drywall cutter designed for making accurate outlet holes in plasterboard at construction sites. This brushless 18V LXT tool delivers professional performance with a no-load speed of 32,000 rpm, enabling fast, clean cuts through drywall. Its cordless design provides excellent portability around the site, whilst compatibility with the full range of Makita 18V Li-ion slide batteries (1.5Ah to 5Ah) ensures extended runtime flexibility.
The barrel handle features a ribbed soft grip that delivers comfortable control during prolonged use, whilst the compact and lightweight construction reduces operator fatigue. An electronic current limiter protects the motor from overload, extending the tool's working life. The high rotation speed ensures swift, efficient cutting through drywall materials, making this an ideal choice for electricians, drywall installers, and contractors working on site installations.
This body-only version includes a drywall guide tip bit, wrench, and collet cone for immediate use. The tool accepts both 1/8" and ¼" collets, providing versatility for different bit sizes. With a maximum output of 600W and noise levels of just 78 dB(A), the DCO181 combines power with relatively low noise output. Please note this is supplied without battery, charger, or case.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance.
