I have bought two of these jacket now and love them. The batteries last all day if you don’t have it at its hottest setting. I am a gardener and find the lowest setting is perfect. My wife drives tractor mowers and has it on the hottest. The pockets are well designed, things you keep in the pockets sit on the bottom where there is no heating element, but put your hands in and move to the top of the pocket and it’s toasty hot. The neck of the jacket is heated and that is really lovely when it’s bitter cold. All in all a great sleeveless jacket, I am 6 foot tall and 12 stone and the size small is snug but a perfect fit for me because I put layers on top and just a T-shirt under.

A Heated Bodywarmer that uses the same Batteries as my Power Tools - I'm very happy with it. This Bodywarmer works well in Sub Zero Temperatures under my overalls. It keeps me warm and I can still move without having to wear a massive overcoat. It heats up well and I find I rarely need to use anything other than the lowest of the 3 settings. I’m writing this review quite soon after purchase so can’t comment on how well the Bodywarmer will last long term, but I have registered the 3 Year Makita Warranty – so I anticipate getting at least that long and probably a lot more too as a seasonal use item. I’m currently using a BL1850 battery, as that’s what I’ve got in my toolbox for my other tools – it’s unsurprisingly quite bulky to wear but manageable. I may well get a smaller battery at some point just for this reason. I find over a full shift the battery drops one or two bars and can easily last a couple of days plus commuting. I like to rotate my batteries before they are fully discharged and swap them between different tools, so they don’t get over-cycled.
