This comprehensive DUR189 kit includes a Makita BL1850B 5.0Ah battery and DC18RC charger, providing everything you need to start working straight from the box. This configuration is perfect for those new to the Makita LXT system or professionals wanting a dedicated battery and charger for their trimming operations.
The included 5.0Ah battery provides excellent runtime, allowing extended periods of trimming on a single charge thanks to the energy-efficient brushless motor and intelligent ADT system. The DC18RC charger ensures quick turnaround times between charging cycles, minimising downtime on the job.
With three selectable speeds (4,000/5,000/6,000rpm) and automatic torque adjustment, this trimmer adapts to varying grass conditions whilst the length-adjustable shaft ensures comfortable operation. Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.

A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance.
