Costly, but did my 7m by 4m garage with some to spare. key part is watch the dvd/read instructions a few times, the preparation is the time consuming part, not the application. If you have "plaster" on the concrete surface as mine did in parts for levelling i think try to seal this first.
Not a review, just an addition to the review suggesting this product was not suitable for ambient temperatures below 16 degrees. response from eu technical director to the wuetion raised about temperature. "the temperature is about right for application, once the product is cured it is fine down to temperatures of zero and below. the absolute min i would apply the product at is 10 degrees c as it's the temperature that enables the chemical cure, and any lower and this won't happen properly giving problems such as not drying in the times stated, not drying fully at all, or if dries will loose some of it's abrasion resistance in the future years and months. it's always worth noting that when a temperature is an ambient x concrete floors (especially during winter) are lower as they take large amounts of time to warm up to the ambient, usually they are a few degrees below this. thanks for the request and hope this helps." ii have no links with the company at all. i was just exploring option for an upcoming project in spring. this may be useful if you are looking
This stuff is fantastic. Fairly easy to apply, but don't go too slowly or your brush/roller will set! It has made a huge difference to the look, feel and value to an integral garage. It is now not a dusty appendage where the car lives - its another room to the house you can actually use without any downsides. Can't think why everyone doesn't do this to their property - the added value at all levels is a no-brainer.
I initially purchased 2 kits to cover two garage bays each approxamately 22 sq.mtrs. After scarifying with a machine hired from HSS then machine scrub using the cleaning agent supplied in the kit rinse allow to dry.I was cocerned that i would run out of paint due to the porosity of my floor so i ordered 2 more kits.Good move as i tin part A&B covered 11 sq.metres half what they stated.the flakes cover any imperfections.I used radiators to make sure the paint dried effectively.I'm considering putting a polish (platinum 25) on top to increase longevity
I found that my first tin did not go as far as I thought it would. My garage floor was 22 sq.mtrs and the tin said it would do 25. So by rolling out a bit thin, the decorative chips did not have enough paint depth to attach itself properly. So I sent for another tin. fortunately I was eligible for a 10% discount from TooledUp. Now the next tin, already having an undercoat, was very different. Plenty to spread around and to hold the decorative chips. The weather when I did the painting was just nearly to cold. So although it felt hard to a thumb nail, don't leave something hard/heavy on it for a least a week. I left a small stepladder on it after a few days of drying and one of the rubber feet had just stuck to the what look hard paint. I have done a small video on "You Tube" of my job of putting down this second coat. This can be seen by a search of dave20thmay. The product is nice and shiny. So easy to sweep up or wash. Well worth the money and work doing this. With excellent results.
In choosing this product, check the small print and be certain that the environment in which you wish to use it will be at a temperature of at least 16 degrees centigrade. This excludes unheated spaces in uk for most of the year. We had to return the goods for this reason.
