This was a replacement for an old upright vacuum cleaner. It's certainly an improvement on trailing power cord around. The build itself seems solid enough and the floor level light is actually rather useful. It comes with a couple of tools, though surprisingly not with a crevice tool. Like most B&D tool, it takes a while to figure out how to put it together. but then it a easy to use for various types of floor. Emptying is easy enough, but needs doing quite frequently. The machine comes with one washable filter, which takes 24+ hours to dry out. That's inconvenient - it should come with at least a couple of filters, so that can be used without a 24 hour hiatus. It's not all that easy to swap the various components around, e.g. to change to stair cleaning mode - getting the bits aligned is fiddly, and removal a bit stiff. But maybe these will get easier with use. I partly bought this because I already had other B&D cordless garden tools, so it made sense for them to share batteries. If you're buying from scratch, you might like to check out other cordless vacuums in this price range....no idea how they would compare.

I already had the B&D battery so I chose this vacuum above others. The light was a bit revealing! but actually very useful. It is fairly heavy to use for cobwebs on walls but on the floor it goes really well. Not as manoeuvrable as the one on a ball but it does the job. It hangs easily on the wall bracket supplied. It is good to have the tools ready on the pipe. Emptying can be a bit dusty but it is easy to detach the canister, take it outside and shake into a bag. I prefer using the strimmer but thats just me.
