Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Bosch PowerForAll
The Bosch PowerForAll Tool range is a range of tools you can buy knowing that batteries are compatible with all tools in the range providing they are of the same voltage. eg 18v fits 18v, 12v (10.8v) fits 12v (10.8v) etc. Please also note that 10.8v is compatible with 12v & vice versa as it is just a name change. Indego Lawnmowers also use the PowerForAll 18v battery but require a cover plate to be removed if changing.
PowerForAll has many advantages not least the fact that once you have a tool with a few batteries then there is no need to buy the more expensive versions with battery & charger, you can just go ahead & buy the much cheaper no battery versions!
So remember PowerForAll signifies complete battery compatibility throughout the range. There is however, one caveat to this, some of the very first older chargers will not charge the very latest batteries & a battery charger upgrade will be required if you have a first generation charger. All batteries fit all tools however.
As of 2021 Bosch has licensed PowerForAll to other manufacturers whereby batteries between these manufacturers will be interchangeable.
Important
You cannot use Bosch Pro (Blue) batteries in either 12v or 18v DIY (Green) products.

GREAT LITTLE TOOL, BUT REMEMBER IT IS BATTERY NOT MAINS SO IT REQUIRES A MORE GENTLE AND PATIENT APPROACH. BUT STILL A VERY WORTH WHILE TOOL.

This tool is well made and highly portable, exactly what you would expect from Bosch. It accepts all the same attachments as it’s mains powered brother product but lacks on torque and endurance so is better suited to lighter / quick jobs. Powerful accessory to have where portability is required.

Excellent product so far and good that I can share batteries with my Bosch drill (not pro. series). Bulkier than absolutely ideal maybe -I thought being cordless might be a bit more compact- but this doesn't really effect use.

Q : Is this product available with a choice of batteries? Your website indicates its out of stock yet your ebay listing indicates otherwise
A : Unfortunately this is an error on that particular ebay listing and is something we are currently working on to get fixed -I'm afraid the website is correct and we don't have available stock of this product until Bosch are able to confirm when they will be ready to start shipping again
Q : Is there a plastic case for the Bosch ADVANCEDGRIND 18v Cordless Angle Grinder
A : Hi Bill, the AdvancedGrind cordless angle grinder will just fit into the Medium sized Bosch SystemBox that we stock on product ID 21032806 (as can be seen in the promotional video they have made for it) but there isn't a dedicated case and inlay for it if that's what you mean
Q : Hi, do the 4ah and 6ah batteries fit the Bosch Advancedgrind 18 and also the AdvancedMulti 18? Ads seem to only mention 2.5 ah. Thanks, Ed
A : Hi Ed, yes the AdvancedGrind and AdvancedMulti 18 can both be used with 4ah or 6ah batteries and we offer both of these tools in kits with those batteries included. I think there is only one tool in the current Bosch Green 18v range that these bigger batteries won't fit onto and that's one of the sanders where the battery is squeezed in between the handle and a dust box. It might be that Bosch only offer these two models with a 2.5ah battery as standard, hence the ads you're seeing, but we offer a whole range of battery options in kits that we make up ourselves, in order to offer a bit more choice to the customer.

This product carries a full 3 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables. In the unlikely event of a fault the item returned is subject to fair wear & tear and must not have been used beyond the scope of it's design. Please note that cordless products will normally have a shorter warranty of just 1 Year for the battery and or charger supplied.
