Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Bosch PowerForAll
The Bosch PowerForAll Tool range is a range of tools you can buy knowing that batteries are compatible with all tools in the range providing they are of the same voltage. eg 18v fits 18v, 12v (10.8v) fits 12v (10.8v) etc. Please also note that 10.8v is compatible with 12v & vice versa as it is just a name change. Indego Lawnmowers also use the PowerForAll 18v battery but require a cover plate to be removed if changing.
PowerForAll has many advantages not least the fact that once you have a tool with a few batteries then there is no need to buy the more expensive versions with battery & charger, you can just go ahead & buy the much cheaper no battery versions!
So remember PowerForAll signifies complete battery compatibility throughout the range. There is however, one caveat to this, some of the very first older chargers will not charge the very latest batteries & a battery charger upgrade will be required if you have a first generation charger. All batteries fit all tools however.
As of 2021 Bosch has licensed PowerForAll to other manufacturers whereby batteries between these manufacturers will be interchangeable.
Important
You cannot use Bosch Pro (Blue) batteries in either 12v or 18v DIY (Green) products.

I bought it for Gardena HANDYMOWER P4A as I rather mow my garden in a single go. It is the largest capacity battery compatible. The first mow in spring still requires 2 goes but sequential mowing should be completed in a single run.

I am very pleased with the product, it meets all my requirements and is compatible with my other Bosch tools.

I am happy with the product I purchased, it has charged up well and I have yet to test it over a period of time in my orbital sander/polisher to see how long the charge lasts. So far I have briefly switched on my sander with the battery attached to check that it works, and when I am ready to use it for a long period I am confident that it will perform for as long as I need it. I believe that I have made a sound investment in a larger capacity Lithium Ion battery (6.0Ah.)

Great battery, great price, just check you’ve got the correct Bosch 18v charger. This was bigger than the 4 amp batteries I’ve been using and I needed a different charger.

The battery does what it says on the tin, powers up the tool, nothing more to say really. The only down side is the service from Tooled-Up, very slow to receive the products, 1 month for arrival, and communication was none excitement.

Q : Can this be used with their vacuum? the one that came with mine is a 3ah. Charging dock is the AL 1830cv. Thanks
A : Hi Clint, as long as it is one of the Power4All cordless vacuum cleaners (like the UniversalVac 18 we stock on product ID 21032799K) it will be suitable? These aren't typically supplied with 3ah batteries which is why I ask, but it could have been a custom kit that the retailer made up.
Q : Hi, can I charge it with AL 1810 CV charger?
A : Hi Linas, you can charge this 6ah battery with the AL 1810 CV charger, yes. It will take a while (I'm guessing several hours to fully recharge it) but will get there in the end.
Q : Hi, Is this battery compatible with the AL 2215 CV charger? Brian
A : Hi Brian, I'm afraid the AL 2215 CV is an older charger and its curved shape means it is incompatible with these larger Power4All batteries which were introduced further down the line. You would need to upgrade the charger if you wanted to use this battery - any of the current models shown in the "Bosch POWER4ALL Tools" range page which is linked on the right of the product page for this battery would be suitable.
Q : Is this compatible with the AL 1830 CV charger?
A : Hi Julia, yes - you can charge this 6ah battery with the AL 1830 CV charger
Q : Can this battery be used with a bosh BCS 122GB cordless vacum
A : Hi Anne, we don't stock the Bosch BCS 122GB and it's not a machine I'd heard of until now, but on looking it up it appears that it can be used with all 18v Power4All batteries from the Home & Garden power tool range. If you want to be 100% certain I'd recommend speaking to Bosch but I can't see any reason why this battery won't work - it will just give you twice the runtime of the 3.0ah batteries that seem to be supplied as standard.

A : Hi Andy, yes - this 6ah battery is suitable for the Bosch Fontus pressure washer
Q : Can I use the 6AH battery with a new universal grass cut Bosch streamer
A : Hi Paul, yes the 6ah battery is compatible with the UniversalGrassCut range - there are only really a couple of Power4All tools it won't fit onto due to its larger size but the grass trimmers are fine
Q : What is the weight of the 4ah & 6ah batteries please? I understand that the 2.5ah is approximately 500gms
A : I can confirm that the 6ah and 4ah battery weighs about 640g the 2ah battery weighs about 354g and the 2.5ah battery weighs about 330g.
