This hose reel works. I was a bit dubious of the plastic nature of the whole thing and could see me ripping the hose guide off the wall and the "automatic" layering failing in short order. However, it is really well-designed and does exactly as it says on the tin. I have used this with increasing confidence and so far nothing has even looked like breaking or indeed looked fragile in any way. Fixing is a doddle and the fittings are of a good quality so I didn't need to use my own as is the case with many products. My only criticism is that after 40 m of half inch hose, the water pressure is not fantastically high and I have a fairly high mains pressure. If you need hose cleaning power, then go for the 20m option. If you need the reach then this reel works and looks sturdy enough for many years use.
