I have had a working pair of these since 1977! They are still going strong and a wonderful design. They have never been sharpened and only used for flower and herb picking....the one handed use is so convenient. They do need sharpening now but not sure how to! My favourite garden tool so I'm sad to see they have been discontinued .
Very good, for what i need them for, comfort and reliability, good sharp edge on blade,and as for expensive well if you want quality and something to last longer than one week, you have to pay for it, makers of the swiss army knife have got to be good.
My second pair ( i'm still hoping to find the first somewhere in the garden) good quality, does the job well. A little expensive.
My second pair as i only have one hand that works, and i use them all the time and leave them around! i wouldn't be with out them, so useful.
We have used these for years. We liked them so much -less stooping, if held one way up flower dead heads held in scissors' grip - that we wanted to buy another pair for an elderly friend's birthday. She has now telephoned to say how pleased she is with them.
Useful bit of kit.
