I bought this as my old hedge trimmer was hard work and heavy (circa 10 years old). This new one is fantastic and I wish i had bought it years ago. i just cut my long privet hedge in 1/3 of the time! The build quality is high. It feels robust. The switches are easy to operate. My hands no longer get cramp gripping to keep the switches in contact. The cut is excellent, requiring a couple of sweeps to get a good finish. It manages thicker stems easily, allowing a more severe cut where required. The trimmer is reasonably quiet. It was just noisy enough for me to want to wear ear defenders for longer usage (1 hour plus) due to the motor noise. A decent blade cover would have been nice, but the thin slip is adequate. This is a small negative for an otherwise brilliant product at a great price. I would recommend this any time.

This is my third b & d hedge trimmer over recent years and each one has been satisfactory and reliable. The motor actually burnt out on the last model after more than 8 years of use. this latest hedge trimmer worked well on my annual cut of approximately 90 meters of beech and hawthorn hedge. It is a slightly more powerful version of the prior model and this makes a difference. It is reasonably light and easy to use and the longer blade enables a good reach when cutting the top of the hedges. Build quality is satisfactory for the its use. it is probably not the most sophisticated of hedge cutters but the price is very competitive when compared to the competition. while i had thought of buying a more expensive model, a bosch, i decided that this offered best value for a product i need once a year. based on my history with this brand i would certainly recommend dependent on your needs. I see no reason why this model will be any less reliable in the future than the others i have had.

Very pleased with this product, it makes light work of even the thickest hedge. as i have three large hedges to deal with it has been well tested, hopefully the performance will stay the same with time.

Great, powerful hedge trimmer from a reputable brand you can trust. The blade guard is the only thing that is flimsy, but that is the only minor imperfection. Overall very happy with the item, the service from tooled up.Com and the delivery service.

Good price and includes lubricating oil. Trimmer works very well and is nice and long. The blade guard is just a cheap flimsy plastic sheath, awkward to put on. They should include a rigid one like my bosch came with at this price level.
