My old b&d finally packed after 30 years so i went for the same make and the quality is the same as my old one, very good. This is one of the more expensive ones on the market but well worth the extra cash. And tooled up has the best price on the web that i could find. Recommended.

This is a very robust, heavy duty strimmer with bags of power. For my needs - clearing pathways, drive, patio and some beds in a medium/large garden - it lacks the finesse for close work unless you have a really steady hand. On another site, reviewers have complained about the 6 metre lead - and I must agree that it is really far too short. I don't know if Black & Decker were trying to shave costs or whether they assumed that everyone would be buying an extension lead, but the decision to make the lead this short seems bizarre and unnecessarily cheese-paring. There is the option to use the tool as an edger - it's clumsy and not easy to handle, but if you manage to keep control it does work pretty well. When used in the orthodox position, you need to keep good care that you don't get too close to the earth, because it will cutup everything - soil, grass roots, stones, weeds etc. - and you may find that you have to patch up missing areas of grass.

This black & decker strimmer is the best i have ever owned. It is reasonably light and very easy to use. It comes with a spare spool of line but with the line already in, the spare is a bonus. I have used it a few times now and it is easy to follow a line as the wheel on it helps guide it around the edging and there is no chance of cutting into plants in the border. I will give it top rating on all counts and reccomend it to anyone wishing to purchase a strimmer and edger. it does exactly what the advert says and i find i pick it out of my shed plug in and in a few minutes my two lawns are edged with borders straight and not having to hope will it or wont it do what i want. I have already told my friends about it and will always sing the praises about it. It ia a pleasure to use. The price is very reasonable. I cannot find any fault with it.

Not mastered the edging tool yet particularly near gravel but general strimmer easy to use, good light weight
