Bosch UNIVERSALHEDGEPOLE 18v Cordless Telescopic Pole Hedge Trimmer 430mm
Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
The Bosch Power4all Tool range is a range of tools you can buy knowing that batteries are compatible with all tools in the range providing they are of the same voltage. eg 18v fits 18v, 12v (10.8v) fits 12v (10.8v) etc. Please also note that 10.8v is compatible with 12v & vice versa as it is just a name change.
Power4all has many advantages not least the fact that once you have a tool with a few batteries then there is no need to buy the more expensive versions with battery & charger, you can just go ahead & buy the much cheaper no battery versions!
So remember Power4all signifies complete battery compatibility throughout the range. There is however, one caveat to this, some of the very first older chargers will not charge the very latest batteries & a battery charger upgrade will be required if you have a first generation charger. All batteries fit all tools however.

Very pleased with this product. It does exactly what I want it to do, saves time by not having to continuously go up and down ladders and is extremely quiet. It is heavy but the shoulder strap negates most of the weight. Not a big enough issue to complain about though and I would recommend this hedge trimmer to anyone with shrubs/bushes/hedges over 6ft.
I had read previous reviews and many describe the unit as heavy. I was aware that any machine of this type is bound to be heavy and the the leverage effect is likely to exacerbate the problem. I have only used it once and confirm that it is heavy. I can't see how it could be improved though so I am happy with the purchase. I only have 1.5 amph batteries and confirm that they seemed perfectly adequate
Works well as long as you keep the blades well lubricated.
Pleased with product together with a fast and efficient service
I had previously purchased a 'cheap' hedge cutter. One learns....perhaps. This Bosch product is excellent and I am very pleased. Should have bought it in the first place. Excellent service as well. Thank you. I will be visiting you again.
Does what it says

WOW Really impressed with Bosch hedge trimmer so easy and light weight. Battery charge lasts brilliantly. Tooled up customer service 10 out 10 Thanks
Purchased this as we have several very deep hedges around the property so needed a greater reach. Also I have already got a bosch drill with 2 lion batteries so can use them on this hedgepole. First thought is the motor is located at the far end of the pole so it's quite unwieldy to use. The shoulder strap does help to counter balance to some degree, but it is still very heavy. It does however reach as far as I need it to and does the job, it cuts very well, no problems with any branches, and the performance and battery life on a small 2Ah drill battery is excellent. Never ran out of power despite cutting a lot of hedges. Good performance and battery life, cautious about the weight especially on full extent.
Excellent product, great price and very prompt service from Tooled- Up. Battery lasts at least 3 times as long as my previous hedge trimmer. Would thoroughly recommend this product and Tooled-Up.
I bought this product partly because it used the same 18V battery as my drill, but also because my old hedgecutter had NiCd batteries that were always flat when you needed them. This product has very sharp blades, but is a little unwieldy to use because it comes in 'Long' and 'Very Long'. Great for high work but you need some muscles to use it at normal heights. One annoyance is that whilst the cutting head can be angled back and forth, it doesn't fold down for storage. At £105 it was acceptable value but I wouldn't have paid RSP for it.
Made in China - enough said, and poor quality considering Bosch (Germany) have had a long period of good quality products. Globalisation may make the production costs cheaper, but the quality goes down with it! As I already had Bosch garden and power tools, some of which use the same batteries, all of which perform well, I had hoped that this would not be as bad as some reviewers have said. BUT...it is blade-end heavy (why they haven't provided weight to the handle end to balance it better, I do not understand), making it uncomfortable and tiring to use, even for short periods. My arms found it tiring to sustain a long cut period (so much so, my neighbour had to complete the job with his Stihl petrol trimmer!). The blade teeth are not separated wide enough to fit even the advised widths of branches (my corded standard Bosch trimmer would deal with them easily). The unit sounds SO under-powered (is this a defect of the European regs which down powered everything electrical in a vain attempt to reduce energy use? Instead it means you end up taking longer to complete a task and probably end up using as much - if not more - energy PLUS you are completely brassed off with the whole thing!); NO power meter, which would help with monitoring the power usage - as seen on the cordless drills and circular saws I have. I will need to use my loppers to reduce the thicker stems even more, and hope next time I use it (next year?), it might just cope with the job better.
Exceedingly disappointed with the strap that broke on the first use! A better attachment from strap to machine would make the machine become a 5* item throughout. Company replaced the item FOC.
Not bad and does the job but with a hell of a lot of effort... it's SO hevay and the motor is on the end rather than the base. We have a very large and very high hedge and it was too heavy for me to do the top I had to get my husband to do it and even he admitted it was hard work.
Bosch have given it the looks, in use it feels as if it is going to collapse with every cut. The power is hopeless and it struggles with slightly thicker branches. Basically battery power is supposed to be the way forward, but, in my experience not for me. Its a gimmick.
