Outstanding device - it replaced a bosch unit that had a very poor chain tensioner mechanism whereas this unit is perfect.

I've recently been given a lot of oak logs about 2 meters in length by 300mm in diameter. In the past i have borrowed a friends petrol chainsaw to cut up logs but on this occasion i thought i should buy my own. I did a lot of research on the pros and cons of electric versus petrol and for my needs opted for electric as the best option. Further research and positive reviews prompted me to buy this model. Wow, it came the next day was simplicity itself to assemble and set up and went through those logs with ease. The chain was very simple to adjust as it stretched slightly during these initial cuts but i was amazed at how quick it went through those still 'green' logs. I know that i won't use it that often but it was worth every penny just for the pile of logs it produced. One of the best tools i've bought for a long time and for less than £100.

Purchased this unit to replace a new bosch unit that the chain tensioner did not work. The chain tensioner on this unit is fantastic

This was a great buy which i would recommend for home use. It was easy enough to set up and i am especially pleased that i paid a bit more and got a model which allowed the chain to be tensioned without the need for tools. have used it on 10 inch logs and had no problems. Chain came off once but it was because i tried to use the chainsaw at an awkward angle, so completely my fault and simply shows my inexperience with this type of tool. The only negative comment is very minor but i would have preferred a brightly coloured cable which would be easier to see than the black one supplied.
