The DeWalt DCS520 54v XR FlexVolt Cordless Plunge Saw and Guide Rail Kit delivers mains-equivalent power without the restriction of a cable. At its heart is a high-performance brushless motor that maintains consistent speed and cutting accuracy even under heavy loads, making it equally at home on a busy construction site as it is in a workshop environment.
Designed with the professional tradesperson in mind, the DCS520 features an anti-kickback system for safer operation and a closed guard that achieves up to 90% dust extraction when paired with a compatible extractor. The 165mm blade, parallel plunge mechanism, and variable speed control combine to deliver precise, clean cuts across a wide range of materials.
This kit includes a 1500mm guide rail, joining kit, and guide rail carry bag, and is available in bare tool (no batteries), with 1 x 6Ah battery and charger, or with 2 x 6Ah batteries and charger — all supplied with a T-STAK Stackable Deep Tool Box.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. DeWalt 54v Flexvolt is the new DeWalt dual voltage system. A 54v Tool can only use 54v batteries, however your new DeWalt 54v Flexvolt battery is fully compatible with all DeWalt 18v Li-ion Power Tools as it is capable of stepping into 18v mode for this purpose.
So upgrading to 54v means you can still make use of your 18v power tool range. 54v batteries are currently available in:
6ah (18v mode) / 2ah (54v mode)
9ah (18v mode) / 3ah (54v mode)
12ah (18v mode) / 4ah (54v mode)
The DeWalt Flexvolt system opens the door to types of tool becoming available in cordless that would never have been considered before such as Table Saws.
