Karcher HD 5/12 C PLUS Professional Pressure Washer 175 Bar
The Kärcher HD 5/12 C Plus is a professional pressure washer delivering 175 bar maximum pressure in a compact, portable design ideal for tradespeople working across multiple sites. Engineered for maximum versatility, this pressure washer combines powerful cleaning performance with innovative portability features that set it apart from conventional models.
The unique dual-orientation design allows operation in both vertical and horizontal positions. In the upright position, the telescopic push handle enables easy manoeuvring across flat surfaces, while the horizontal orientation lifts the wheels off the ground to immobilise the machine—making it perfectly suited for working at height, on scaffolding, or unstable surfaces. The integrated carrying handle balances the 23.7kg weight for comfortable transport up stairs or in and out of vans, whilst onboard storage keeps nozzles, the power cable, and spray lance secure during transit. Protective skids on the main housing allow safe use on stairs, and a rubber clip keeps the 10m high-pressure hose firmly in place when moving between jobs.
Built for the rigours of professional use, this Kärcher model features high-quality components throughout, including a brass cylinder head and easily accessible filter to protect the pump from debris. The EASY!Force trigger gun uses the recoil force of the pressure washer to reduce trigger holding effort to virtually zero, significantly reducing user fatigue during extended cleaning sessions. Kärcher's AVS anti-twist technology prevents hose tangling, whilst the EASY!Lock quick connector enables rapid accessory changes to maintain productivity on site.
With a 500 l/h flow rate and 120 bar working pressure, the HD 5/12 C Plus is suitable for automotive detailing, façade cleaning, construction site equipment maintenance, and general vehicle and machinery cleaning. The pressure washer accepts water feed temperatures up to 60°C and is rated for up to two hours of continuous professional use.

To help determine the type of pressure washer required it is important to consider the size of your cleaning task and level of duty, i.e. how big is the cleaning object and how often will you need to clean it? Below is an explanation of the two main types of pressure washer. Whilst bar pressure is important the overriding factor in cleaning power is the water flow rate. More water = better cleaning.
Jargon Buster:
• Bar or PSI: Bar is the most common measure of pressure. PSI = bar x 14.5.
• Bar (max): This is the pressure achieved when the machine is first turned on
• Bar (rated) pressure: This is the operating water pressure of the machine.
• Motor size (kW): Motor size indicates power providing the machine runs efficiently.
• Flow Rate (l/h): Higher flow rates enable you to clean large areas or objects faster
Did You Know:
Pressure Washers use up to 80% less water than garden hosepipes.
Pressure Washers are not subject to hosepipe bans if used for safety reasons, or if a suction hose is used to pull water from a harvested source. i.e. not the water mains. They are also not subject to a ban if used for commercial reasons, for example to maintain cleanliness, hygiene or company image.
Important things to remember when using your pressure washer:
• Always use an RCD when using electrical products in connection with water.
• Never use a non-return valve at the pressure washer connection to a hose pipe.
• Never drive over or lay items on high pressure hoses to avoid damage.
• Your water supply hose should be a min of several meters long and unwound from its reel.
• If you are using an extension lead, check that it is rated at min of 13 amps and fully unwound from its reel.
