Kew Gardens Carbon Steel Edging Knife
The Kew Gardens Carbon Steel Edging Knife is a professional-grade lawn edging tool designed for creating sharp, defined borders on lawns and grassed areas. Developed through a collaboration between Spear & Jackson and the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, this tool combines horticultural expertise with traditional British manufacturing quality to deliver reliable performance throughout the gardening season.
The solid forged carbon steel head provides exceptional strength—at least 50% stronger than stainless steel alternatives—whilst the hammer finished epoxy coating enhances resistance to rust, humidity and soil alkalis. This robust construction ensures long-term durability even with regular use in demanding conditions.
Ergonomic design features include an award-winning stirrup style head, extra wide tread for comfortable foot pressure, and a wide T-shaped handle that improves grip and control. The 914mm FSC certified ash handle is weatherproofed for durability and reduces the need for bending, helping to minimise back strain during extended edging work.
