Trend HR/JIG Worktop Hot Rod Jig

The Trend HR/JIG Worktop Hot Rod Jig is a precision routing jig designed to cut grooves in solid worktops for the installation of heat-protective hot rods.

Hot rods are fitted into routed recesses to prevent heat damage to the work surface — a practical solution for kitchen worktops and similar installations. The jig is compatible with hot rods in four standard lengths: 100mm, 200mm, 300mm, and 400mm.

Constructed from 12mm CNC machined Compact Grade High Pressure Laminate, the jig is built to withstand repeated use on site. Grooves are spaced at a 50mm pitch, with a series of peg holes at 50mm increments allowing the rods to be recessed either at 90 degrees or at 45 degrees to the work surface.

For best results, the rods should be recessed to approximately one third to one half of the rod diameter. Trend recommends using cove cutter Ref. C054AX1/2TC (R6.35mm, 12.7mm diameter) for standard 12.7mm rods, or Ref. C053CX1/2TC (R6mm, 12mm diameter) for 12mm rods. Other cove cutters can be used for alternative rod diameters. Hot rods are not included.
