Trend Skeleton Two Part Hinge Jig

The Trend Skeleton Two Part Hinge Jig is a portable, fully adjustable block template set designed for recessing hinges in timber doors and frames using a plunge router.

Suitable for use on-site and in joinery shops, this two-part jig eliminates the need for conventional marking out by using the hinge itself as the pattern. Setup is quick and straightforward, helping carpenters and joiners complete hinge recessing work accurately and efficiently with minimal preparation time.

The jig is compatible with both inside and outside doors, including rebated frames and fixed stops up to 25mm thick. It is particularly well suited to renovation work and fire door installations, where fully adjustable apertures allow for precise recessing across a range of hinge sizes. Edge guides include presets for 20mm, 25mm, and 30mm hinges.

Clean, accurate recesses are achieved every time, making it equally useful for fitting a new door into an existing frame. The jig works with a light-duty plunge router fitted with a 1/4 inch collet, and requires a 12mm diameter long-reach router cutter with a 70mm overall length.
