The Bosch GBH 18V-28 D is an 18V cordless brushless SDS Plus rotary hammer drill built for heavy-duty hammer drilling in concrete, stone, and masonry.

Powered by a brushless motor, it delivers 3.4 J of impact energy with an impact rate of up to 4,250 bpm — outperforming Bosch's own corded GBH 2-28. The optimised power-to-weight ratio of 1.1 J/kg makes it a practical choice for sustained overhead or downward drilling, where the D-handle design provides confident control.

Safety is well considered with two key protection systems built in. KickBack Control detects sudden loss of tool control — such as a jammed bit — and instantly shuts the tool down to reduce the risk of hand and arm injuries. Vibration Control further reduces user fatigue during prolonged use.

For dustless drilling, the tool is compatible with the separately available GDE 28 D Professional dust extractor, which features a filter cleaning mechanism to maintain constant suction. The GBH 18V-28 D is fully compatible with all Bosch Professional 18V batteries and chargers, as well as the AMPShare multi-brand battery platform.

A tool hook is included for convenient hanging during work stoppages.
