The DeWalt DCB183B is an 18V XR cordless lithium-ion battery with integrated Bluetooth technology, designed to work seamlessly with the free Tool Connect App on both Apple and Android devices. This 2.0Ah battery offers tradespeople advanced security, inventory management and customisation features, making it ideal for contractors managing multiple tools across busy job sites.
The Tool Connect App provides three key screens for battery management. The Diagnostics Screen displays real-time battery state of charge, temperature and Bluetooth connection status, whilst allowing users to remotely enable or disable the battery to conserve power or deter theft at the end of the working day.
The Actions Screen enables comprehensive customisation of alert preferences, including out-of-range warnings, low battery alerts, high temperature notifications and charge completion updates. A particularly useful feature is the Lending Button, which allows batteries to be shared for a specified time period before automatically shutting down and alerting the owner when the lending time expires.
The Alerts Screen maintains a complete log of all notifications generated by connected batteries, providing full visibility of battery status and location. This makes the DCB183B particularly suitable for site managers and contractors who need to track equipment inventory and prevent tool loss across multiple locations.
