I've only used this once, but it did the job that a "normal" plunger struggled to clear. part of it is down to technique. You have to make sure that you've sucked up a full barrel before blasting it down the plug hole if you want maximum effect. the seal is almost too small in diameter for any of my basins and sinks, but i believe there may be a bigger part available as an "extra". I'd recommend getting it. You should get a better seal then. remember to stuff the overflow temporarily with a rag or something to maximise the effect and to stop mucky water flying out all over you!
